I found a site that rebuilds motors. He said a remanufactured engine with heads would be around $1400 delivered with 285hp(www.RapidoMarine.com). This is the cheapest I have seen. Are there any high performance cams for a reverse rotating engine?

yes there are hi po cams for reverse rotation engines most have to be custom ordered. Keep in mind you get what you pay for and 1400 is pretty cheap now but when you have to replace it again in a couple of years where's the saving then?

Also you need to figure core cost. 90% of the shops want a rebuildable core and your block isn't rebuildable, so you'll need to figure in the core charge as well, Jasper will take anything that doesn't have a visible hole or defect on it looking from the outside. Most shop's tear the engine down and check to make sure it's a good block before they give you creadit for the core.

62 wood had an engine for sale a while back. 300 hp, still on the crate. Check and see if he still has it. It was in the parts for sale forum.

Sorry to hear about your motor issues. I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago ; I got cought deployed away from home a little longer than expected, plus a very early freez. I ended up building a 393 stroker and reused all of the EFI parts on from my motor and the periferals. Its a monster now producing just under 400 hp and at least as much torque. PCM Provides A and B motors throgh there dealers at greatly reduced prices. These motors for one reason or another are not 100% brand new; they may have a blemish, or have had a part swapped out for some reason. You can get a lot of motor for a significant saving, then recover a little bit of the cost by selling off what parts are salvageable from your motor.

Best of luck

Dallas, I'd like to hear a little more about your motor. Besides the stroker kit, what other mods does it have (heads, cam, exhaust, etc)? Any mods needed to the EFI system to get proper fuel flow?

I would imagine that motor would push your TSC into the low 50's.

I would say it's also a standard rotation engine and not a reverse rotation. If it is rev what did you do about the crank and it's grind?
