Does anyone know where to get .125 Lexan at a decent price? Lowes and Home Depot only carry .093. Before I bought the boat, someone put armourall on the windshield. I want to replace it using Lexan. CorrectCraft has the windshield in stock in Orlando for around $100, but it's going to cost $120 to get it here. Everywhere I've looked for a sheet of .125 Lexan that is the size I need, they're asking around $205. I would rather do this project myself for around $100 (if possible), but I guess if I have to spend $200, I might as well just get the exact part from CorrectCraft.

I would check Tap Plastics, not sure if they have one out there in your part of the woods, but I believe they will ship it. Do a google for Tap Plastics. They should just require the specs, and they can ship out to you.

The plastic suppliers love to sell 4x8 sheets. Take a look at polycarbonate from Mcmaster and compare prices on smaller pieces. The "abrasion resistant" may be worth looking at too.

Some Glass Shops have it. Usually way cheaper than the Depot etc...
And you can pick the size and not have to pay for a whole sheet. AT |

Yeah, I checked some local glass shops, and they were asking for around $200... I think I might just order the windshield from Correct Craft at the end of the season.... There's so much I want to do to the boat to make it perfect- so one project at a time...

LEXAN is good stuff. Made by GE Plastics, or now SABIC (Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corp.), which bought GE Plastics a couple of years ago.
Its tough, and clear. However, it has poor chemical resistance and poor scratch resistance. I would spend the extra $100 and get the right part from Correct Craft when the time is right. I think it will look better, and perform better over the long haul. |

Patrick, I just did a quick search (not even a "advanced") and came up with 7 threads on using plastic polish on windshields. |

I looked at some of the posts, and I got the headlight cleaner and buffed the heck out of it... it looked good for about 45 minutes, then it all came back...
