Roger,
I found out that Chicago is your best bet. It's the cheapest ticket to get.
You can always try to book a ticket through www.connections.be, this is a great site to book cheap flight tickets all over the world.
If you come, try to get there on thursday. I still got some free seats in the car I rented . I land at Chicago O'Hare at 13.15 hr. Also got a place to sleep at the Lakeside motel, since my buddy Jo can't make it...
You can always give me a call: +32476259477

So, with a Month or so to go, we have 22 boats?????????????? We go from 60 to less than half?? Now I know a lot of our long distance friends can't make it this year, but where's the rest of our Midwest contigency?? How about the Eastern Mainstays ???

I already promised warm temps and warmer water this year...

Come on now... Winter is long over and Spring skiing is already happening.. Please get on and register, so we can complete the planning and such...

Thursday night is of course open to anyone wanting to stop by the park and join us for a great BBQ and fun times...

OK, lets talk it up, whether speed runs, skiing clinics and or drinking contests.... We can't go into the 5th Anniversary get together with 25 boats...

If you haven't made it yet to Green Lake, and have any questions, please let me know. Email me @ d.dorsen@att.net or give me a shout via cell @ 630-842-4124.... This event is sure to please. Keith will soon post the schedule of events, so you all know what to expect..
Thanks..

Roger,
You'd fly straight into Chicago, O'Hare International and drive 3 hours North... That's the easiest route and easiest to book out of the UK.. If you can get it done, we'll all look forward to meeting you and buying you some "good" beer !!!

Kristof is flying into New orleans Monday nite, we will find a room. Then show him the Quarter that nite and Cajun coffee in the AM before the trip home.
There is a lot to see between here and there..

They will also be "blown away" having the opportunity to visit Bourbon St. and the French Quarter!!

I did not realize that they are visiting New Orleans. What a contrast that will be from Green Lake!

Kristof I am very envious wish Jo and I were going back this year. You will have a great time it is a beautiful place GL and it sounds like the water is a lot warmer than last year.

We flew into Milwaukee and hired a car to get to GL. It is about 1hr 45min by car. You get to drive through some lush farming countryside. I always find that you get more of a feel for the trip by driving and taking in the countryside.

From Chicago it is probably more like 4hrs and you have far more traffic to deal with. You have to get used to driving on the wrong side as well. Get a cheap GPS we purchased one for around $70US at Radio Shack. It now lives in the boat to calibrate the Airguides and is a reminder of fun times.
If you're going through hell, keep going

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY...!!!
I got my plane tickets!!

So my friends, this Belgian arrives at Chicago O'Hare on thurday the 15th at 1.15 PM.

Is there anyone willing to come pick me up at the airport? So we can make it in time for the "Pre-Reunion" cookout party (would love to attend that!) .

Let me know guys, otherwise I'll have to find another way of transportation from the airport to GL...

We would like to attend. Not looking good right now. I won't say no until the event has passed, but, at this point, doesn't seem likely. BKH

hahahaha, yeah, we've come to know rain, winds and generally cold conditions haven't we Brian??

Well the ice went out early, the water is down, and it's been one hot April/May here... Looks like the water temps will certainly be nice.. If the darn sun would shine like it has here recently, the reunion will soak it in for sure... Man there's a lot of "weather" that can happen till then...

I haven't heard if your coming this year, but by not hearing from the horses mouth pretty much means you're out for 2010 huh??? Hell you should still get the award for most dedicated CCFan'r... 4 years straight from Cali, one year with back surgery and one year hauling a boat, you still hold the title... If you don't come, it certainly wont be the same my friend !!!

Hey Mojo,

Still raining here in California. You could move the reunion out here and have weather that we've all come to know and love at the reunions BKH.

Looks like out 2010 reunion will be full of new faces and new boats to check out. At the rate we're going we could see about 40 boats this year..

Anyone who hasn't registered their boats in the diaries, and is bringing their rig, please do so with pictures. This way the boat ballots will include your boat's picture and will be easier to remember our votes etc...

For those who haven't registered, again, get busy and do so.. We have the Thur and Sat meals to plan... Earlier the better..

Thanks

Randy,
Good to know and thanks for the offer... We're going to play it by ear for the tent this year, and if the weather warrents, we'll need help (as always) putting it up in the park...

Look forward to seeing you again this year !!!

I'll tell ya.... The weather in Chicago was unbelievable yesterday. It was just shy of a record 92 degrees and blazing sun... I'm cleaning some of the 211 which has been in storage and look at my wife and said, It's frigg'n May and we've not had a day like this during the GL reunion for 5 years running... That said, know that the ice went out early, and the water is a little down, so it's sizing up to be a warm, sunny summer.......

Here's just another little bulletin about the reunion for 2010..

Speaking for Raindog(Steve), 81Nautique(Alan) and our families, we have agreed, as a result of just one great time, we had last year to repeat the Thursday "Pre-Reunion" cookout party...

Same time, same place, same fun !!!! This is a chance to relax once you get into Green Lake and partake in some good home made grilled specialties. We'll of course ask for a pre-sign up, so we know how many to plan for...Menu I believe will be the same (That pork was unreal)...

Think about it. It's a great way to meet new members and start out the weekend with old friends alike and to relax by the water's edge in the city's Deacon Mills Park.

Any questions, please feel free to ask...
