    Posted: June-29-2010 at 4:12pm
I am going to replace the glides on the driver's seat in my 92SN. I know how they attach to the seat. I am wondering if you must remove the base from the floor to attach the glides to the base. Although I don't think I have a stringer problem, I really do not want to remove all the screws from the base to do this simple job. Thanks for your help.

Yep, you gotta pull the pedestal to gain access to the nuts on the underside.

Pics?   I'm very interested to see what these seat base assemblies look like.

Yep, that is what I thought. Now I gotta decide if I want to risk it. Although I can find no soft spots or any other signs of rot, I am scared to remove all 18 screws. Of course if it has rot, guess I need to know.
Sorry, I don't have any pics. The glide assembly is very simple though.

Thanks, however, the point is not how to do it. It seems pretty simple. I am concerned about finding some rot when I unscrew the base. Don't want to discover that the screws will not hold when I put them back. It is a 1992 model...the last of the wood stringers.

I had roted wood all over my 92 but the screws on the pedestal holded fine..
Just put some 3m 5200 on the screws when bolting them back in place...
