No crane needed! The two "W" beams height was the governing factor in the shop ceiling height and the governing factor in the overall shop actual height. I didn't what it too high to make it look out of place in the residential area yet give me the height needed to roll a hull over. The shop floor is actually below grade on one side. The ceiling height is 11 feet, the 14" "W" beams are recessed into the ceiling and only come down 6" (plenty of room for trolleys - 5" needed) and with trolley mounted 1 ton hoists I'm ending up with 9' under the hooks. That's plenty of room to handle the hulls I plan on working on/rolling. Yes, a "Sedan" may be a problem!!! |
