I am looking for a source....in need of a front timing cover (crankshaft)seal for a rh rotation 312. Anyone know where to get one?
As soon as I get this I can fire it up after the rebuild.

the rotation will not effect the timing cover so any timing cover for a 312 should work.

79....I have the timing chain cover...what I need is the seal. I think it is called a crankshaft oil seal.I am told that part needs to be for rh rotatation.

your correct the seals are different, depending on RH or LH rotation, but I believe that is only for the rear seal and not the front crank. I would check with Paul aka 67nautique312 or maybe reidp they know a lot more about the Chrysler engines.

79,
i think the 312 is a ford ..."y" block..

Stang, have you checked with an engine machine shop? The guys that did the machine work on my 283 got my reverse seal...now I just need time to assemble the motor...
