if yours is a LH then that's conventional and it should work other than it's not a marine grade unit

All CC boat from the factory use RH props. The late CC still use RH standard SAE rotation engines and change the PCM tranny, that goes either way to turn RH.

I can't believe that 79 is letting this go so easy. Automotive parts in a marine motor!?!?

With that engine the guy really doesn't have much choice, and all he really has to do is swap the vent screens from the marine unit he has to the new dist and be pretty religous with running the blower.

Hey thanks for the info.
However, my original distributor has no screens. It appears to be a common automotive dist. And where would screens fit in a dist?My boat also never had a blower system. I am planning on istalling a bilge blower. I purchased a Proform HEI unit for a 215 buick application. It is a couple inches taller than the points dist, but the same on the drive end. I have a velvet drive 1:1 tranny. My prop is LH also. |

on the underside of the dist. base where the cap attaches too there may be two vents in the base housing. Sounds like conventional rotation so you shold be good to go.
