Seems like all the holiday stuff starts earlier and earlier every year. Some stores are switching over to winter stuff or even Christmas stuff and it's barely the beginning of fall...LOL!

Do you not like Christmas music, eric? Or are you just thinking it's too early?

Eric I'm with you man. My daughter wanted to go to the Aeropostal outlet store LAST sunday. Christmas music was being played over I'm shaking my head. While I was looking at a shirt for myself my oldest came running up to me and said "Dad......Are you Kidding Me?" I responded with " What, you don't like the shirt?"... "NO, they're playing Christmas music already and it's no where near Thanksgiving yet!"..."Yep, the jack-o-laterns haven't even started to rot and they've started."

Retailers are going to kill the holiday before it even gets here. Even the kids are starting to notice.

It'll definitely be a few weeks before I dust off the greatest Xmas album of all time:

Eric, I think it is time you ask Santa for satelite radio.

That being said, maybe you should enjoy Xmass and its music before the government takes Xmass away.

Speaking of "Xmas", do you think using the term Xmas is somehow degrading to the meaning or somehow excluding Christ from the word?

Considering that it's a holiday made up by the Romans to appease pagan and Christian interests, I'd say no. Christ's birth was by most historical accounts something that occurred in the springtime. "Xmas" is a melting pot of quite a few traditions from Christian elements to pagan sun and tree worship. It is a holiday for everyone regardless of religious affiliation in my opinion, otherwise I wouldn't celebrate it.
