I am installing a new key ignition on my 82 2001 sn. What color wire is for the ignition , and what color wire is for the solenoid . I know the battery wire cause it has a red stripe on it . The other wires left are orange & purple . The purple wire could be a bluish color also. PLease help , I had to hot wire on the water and I fogot the wire locations . Thanks , Dan

Purple is from the ignition (switched power...also goes to instruments, accessories powered when key is 'ON') purple wire also goes to ECM
Orange is battery (fused power directly from battery ) |

there is a website (www.skiboathelp.com...I think)that had a reference document of color codes and a schematic of a typical boat electrical system. I found it helpful when I re-wired mine. I don't recall the solenoid arrangement. It took me a few tries to get it right when replacing my solenoid.
