yesterday I had the opportunity of using the EZ footer to teach some friends....
Not as easy as I thought..or my friends are not fast learners....or I suck as a teacher...
they would get speed and plough the feet in the water..no matter how many times I yell them to glide first with the butt, then knees to the chest, etc...
What I do need is some equipment in s size. One of my friends is actually A girl..so imagine the situation: high speed, water and bikini..lol.
After dealing a bit with the ez she wanted to start holding to the boom (not mine of course)...I gave her my BI shorts(smart move)...I take off and suddenly water washed away the shorts..leaving her completely bottom less...hilarious..too bad there´s no video there...
video will come later...

I also had some sets...I still plough my feet while doing 1 foots ...geez..I´d like a pro near me pointing me out in real time..but no one around...
I managed to do a toe hold fine but when I go to grab again I always loose balance..wonder why?

I also tried side slide and had some nice packers!!!lol
Water was EXCELLENT..its a little river and my secret spot..far though...its 27 miles away from my marina, but they are worth 100%...
The other place I go to ski is mess during the WE..

did some long line sets also...

You really "fly" them, set it up so they don't sit in the water but just above it. Then you have them set feet on water slowly and push down with feet (STAND UP)-KNEES BENT-you will be yelling over and over to them "BEND YOUR KNEES!" have them look straight ahead, chin up, eyes forward=(balance) NOT looking at their feet.(when they drop the chin and look down - its look down go down) they will catch a toe and then they can spin back forward as long as you have them just high enough off the water. have everybody wear a barefoot suit or barefoot shorts or at least some thin wetsuit shorts (even if it doesn't fit well) it will be better than nothing. a bikini won't do anything ...the girls can get hurt from the water so I give them something to wear.   

27 miles from the marina- that is a long way to go to foot- but if its really good then its worth it.

for your one foots- you need your foot directly under the rope/line and you need to tighten your legs and torso and groin muscles --"scissor" your leg in the air with the leg on the water and shift your weight onto the foot you are skiing on(keep "scissoring")keep your ski foot directly under the rope all the time by shifting the handle and your foot - as long as the foot is under the line you will have good balance.

Try some one hand-one foots...with your right hand on the handle shift the handle over your left foot (and let go with your left hand) and visa versa.

One foots and toe holds make it feel like you are gonna catch because the water is closer to your toes you have to get used to that edge moving up to your toes without catching a toe. Its a fine line.

go back onto the boom without any handle just hanging on your boom (and get the glide down)you can learn not to plow there.

One more thing on the toe-holds: once you are in the strap, there is a tendancy to stop "leaning" onto the foot that is on the water. Riding the toehold, remeber to lean onto the foot that is on the water.

You might be getting caught in transition, too. When removing the foot, everything loosens up. You forget to keep the foot on the water flexed, forget to keep the lean, you lose your "crunch" (that is get loose in the mid-section. Core need to stay tight.)

Another tip that helped me, is what one foot does, the other does. So if your foot in the strap loses its "flex" and gets loose, the foot on the water does the same. This helped me when I was having problems on my reverse toe-hold.

You need a lot of concentration to put the foot back on the water, as much as it took to get the foot in there.

Seb - lookin good, that is some serious chocolate milk water! For the lady on the EZ Footer, have her practice in the boat, "point, flex, knees to the butt" looked like she was trying to point her toes to keep her feet flat on the water...

we had alot of rain lately and I've been putting a stroker motor in my boat which took 2 times(long story) so my time has been workin on the boat in the cold. Roy got out and did some skiin with Willie but no video and they had a little problem with Willies boat --blew the motor so ....we have issues

Yes.

Your inside cable is flopping around in all the videos, snug it up or extend the outside one. When you test it out on land the inside cable should get taught first, the boom will flex and the outside cable will become tight during use.

yes as Hollywood said it it an add on handle that clamps onto the boom(hard to find!)

No it's not a 351 or rear main seal issues, it is GM small block stroker 383...they used the wrong block on the first engine(was for flat tappet cam/lifters) I never knew there was any difference in the blocks but apparently there is a "step" in the bore for the lifters which if you put hydraulic lifters/roller cam in the flat tappet type of block oil pressure is lost as it goes flowing past the lifter and out into the valley.

oh just 17.5 miles...still a ways to go...we used to burn a quarter tank just getting to our site not sure how many miles it was from the ramp but a good 20 minutes or so must have been about 15 miles

Hey question for the footers. I have never footed behind a tower or high pole. Last fall as most of you know we got a 2000 sport with the FCT2 tower. Is it a sweet difference footing with a tower? Or is it virtually un-noticeable? What are all of your opinions on that?

The difference is noticeable. Everything becomes slightly easier- and you dont get tired as quickly. After trying my Fly High, everyone else in our group who barefoots (6 other guys) each bought one for their boats.

Nice Tim, I noticed Kap was on his in those vids and was getting excited to foot behind the tower this year. I thought it would be slightly easier to do things. Plus, it looks so cool...

Tower or pylon extension are the same I guess..you get more lift from the rope as is set higher...
There are also tower extensions used on bf boats, they put the rope even higher. Correct me but you can go 12ft above floor level...

oh..I didn´t go out yesterday the crane of the marina broke, so it was impossible to put the boat in the water....
I hope they get it fix by the weekend...we are having a long weekend, monday and tuesday are non laborable due to Carnival celebrations!!!

The tower or extended pylon make a big difference. Seb is refrerring to the super-fly-high which has the rope 12-14' high. That makes a huge difference. Your wake crosses are soooo light. Learning backwards behind the boat is a lot easier as well.

I cannot imagine footing on a standard pylon anymore.
