   I am looking at purchasing a 1982 Ski Nautique floor needs replacing!! what is the best way to test to see if the stringers are ok? I pulled two of the lag bolts and they seem ok but not 100% sure is there a better way to determine for sure

	About all you can do without removing glass is to check all the Lag bolts to make sure that they all tighten up. Put some pressure on them to make sure that they do not strip out on wet wood. Check the bow for moisture in the foam. Check the length of the stringers for cracks or repairs in the glass. If the floor needs to be relaced, it is a good bet that the stingers do to. Good luck with the inspection.

	You can loosen the lags a little bit and try to tighten them back down as Critter suggests. If they spin in place they are done. You can also use a hole saw to pop out small pieces of glass to see what lies beneath. You will get more attention if posted under boat maintenance or gen discussion. This area is for questions about the site. This was on the lifting mount behind the gas tank but the process is the same. Was time to replace!

	just noticed you are looking at buying this boat. Unless you are ready to restore it I would look for another one. If the floor is soft its because there is rot.
