Steve,

An obvious question, what is wrong with your old pitot? Have you disconnected the hose and tried cleaning it out with air pressure (reverse direction) limited to 25-30 psi?

I was able to clean out my existing pitot tubes and then ran new hoses from the pitot pickup, to stablizer tubes and to the speedometers. They work great now.

Otherwise getting NOS Airguide pitot tubes like these is costly.

Hi Randall,
When removing the tube from the pitot, I broke the nipple off of the pickup. I ended up picking up the SKIDIM offering this afternoon. At $13.95 it seemed like a reasonable although not exact replacement.
Thanks for the input though to all

I read that you can use your existing holes and drill new ones into the new pick up.

drill holes in the new pick up to match the existing ones in the hull...don´t drill the hull...
also when putting the screws back in, put some 3M 5200 or 4200 sealant....

You could try to repair it.Go to a hobby shop or a Hobby Lobby etc and get a piece of brass tubing that fits the hose.Then drill out the pitot where the part broke off so that the tube can be glued in being careful not to use so much glue as to clog the hole.

Gary,
The plan is to use the new pitot by modifying the holes as Kapla discusses so that the holes in the hull are unaltered. I'll hang on to the original pitot and if some CC purist in the future has plenty of time to make such a repair as you mention then they can have at it. I just don't have the time to fiddle with that kind of thing, though it seems like a reasonable solution if someone has the time and is committed enough to the originality cause.

This is what I meant but my wording is kind of confusing looking back at it. And english is your second language!

You bought that one on the other thread Don? You bringing it to SJRR? I'm still looking for the one that was at Tommy Bartletts

[QUOTE=uk1979] Is this one Rare

Yes,yes it is. It was used at Cypress Gardens,the '72 Olympics and was being restored for the 2016 Chicago Olympics. Alas since that bid failed,all restoration work has stopped. His loss is your gain!
There is another one that was used in those venues and Tommy Bartlett's too,but has not surfaced yet

I'm told that's called a ballast. My part is called a pitot, but ive always called them pickups. Pickup seems like the more descriptive term.

Ive heard the copper tubing upstream of the pickup (commonly mounted on the transom- usually on the inside) called ballast tubes and dampening tubes.

Pickup = pitot.
