What is the best way to take care of the fuax wood grain on the dash? Buff? What should I use to bring it back to it original luster?

Some "cleaner" type wax would be my first try on the wood grain. 3M's Marine Cleaner Wax is a good one I've used.
Something more aggressive like a compounding and the buffer will be needed for the black dash. Maybe even a wet sand first? |

I will have to try the 3M cleaner (I think it is called "Finesse It"?) and maybe some rubbing compound. The PO did remove the all of the decals from the dash, which should make it easier to clean. (I'll have to replace those once I am done)

Tim, The "Finnesse It" is not the product I recommended. You can try it but it usually used as a final step in buffing after compounding. Here's the 3M cleaner wax |
