Got the 96 out on the water yesterday for the first ride of the year. No skiing yet, did a little shake down test with the new GT-40p heads and some other little things. Thought I'd share a few pictures, sorry they are from the phone.

Anyone else out on the water yet?

Good for you guys. We still have snow on the ground here. Ice off is still at least a week away.

How did the boat run? Any discernable difference between the GT40 and P heads?

Tim, was just sending you an email. 45mph on the spedo @ 5,100 rpms on a short run to WOT. Only did it once.

I'm headed back out tonight or tomorrow morning to give it a better test. Wanted to make sure there were no leaks, check fluids and just general stuff before I really open it up for testing.

Water was pretty rough so there was only one stretch where I could really feel the boat and not the chop.

I'm going to play with the trans cable some as it felt a little stiff. It might also be time to educate myself on the MV-2 and clean it out. I'll start with the cable tho as they had it routed wrong when I got it back from the shop.

This is an article about some buddies of mine that footed last weekend near Angola Indiana. They would have gone out the weekend before, except for the fact that the ice hadn't left the boat ramp. They are footing behind a sweet '89 Barefoot Nautique, owned by Ben (89Barefooter).

Thats awesome! We used to always be out skiing the week after the ice was out but most of my buddies seem to pass these days.

How long till the water's open in MI?
