I put my 97 Nautique in the lake over the week end for the first time this year. It ran great that evening (as it was at the end of last year) and then the following day it would die out after getting warm (hesitation & sputtering). I changed out the plugs, cap and rotor, and drained the fuel cell. There was a lot of crap in the cell.
I pulled the boat and topped off the fuel and ran great for a day and then the problem came back. Any Ideas?? I read GottaSki posted on 4/21/05 about the cone screen.. I will pull that tonight. Thanks for any Ideas! |

sounds like your heading down the right path, don't forget about the separetor, filter and fuel lines as well and maybe the fuel pressure regulator. Most have a vaccum line going to them not sure if yours does, but if it does have one look for cracks or soft spots in the hose.

Thanks Gottaski... I pulled the screen and the boat ran great. Not sure that I would have been able to find that as a fix without costing a a butt load of money. Thanks again.

Gottaski, is the fuel cell the only other filter? Should I add an additional inline fuel filter? Thanks for all the assistance.

97 Nautique:
Where did you find the cone screen located? I have a 95 and had a huge filter clog. I am looking for places to clean the line. I found a couple screens at the tank. Are there others? |
