Robert,
What problems are you having? Fuel delivery? Check the anti siphon valve at the top of the tank.

Welcome to CCfan. Any pictures? Submit some for the diary section as well.

Acts as though is running out of fuel. will only mantane about 35mph.
everything looks good back to that valve. had it all apart back to the tank last week. blew some air thru it to check the vent ran good for a day. if it dosnt have some kind of sock on it may have something else blocking the tub

Robert,
How's your fuel pump? Use a 5 gal. gas container as a temprary tank and check the pressure you get out of the pump.

did a flow test and used a fuel pressure gage befor to check something else. was good then. pulled the tank last night and there is a strainer in the top of the pickup tube and a small amount of trash in the tank. that valve is odd why dont cars have them? ill take it to the lake tomarrow. and see how it goes. thanks for the commits, seems the older i get the more i dont like to mess with problems eventhough my wife says i have poject ADD.

Robert, Cars don't have anti siphon valves because they don't have a enclosed bilge where gas could accumulate creating a BIG hazard!

No you do not have any fuel strainer in the tank. You should have a water/fuel serpator filter in line before the fuel pump. Also some early model 83 SN have a screen and filter in the Holley 4160 inlet.
