When I got into the wood lathe projects, I knew I needed a basic set of friction joint adjustable calipers. I ended up going to my favorite source here in the states which is McMaster Carr supply. To my surprise, the calipers supplied where not our own Starret brand but "Moore and Wright" made in your country!! Good name or what? I can't imagine too much difficulty making a friction joint inside or outside caliper!!! They look great and I did have to wait (EXTREMELY unusual for McMaster) for one to come over the pond!!! Old good name - I think they are!?

No Eric!!!! I have my own account at McMaster - my credit card is on file!!

BTW, technically, I do not issue PO's. We have a full time PA! I do however do have things shipped into work - that's so I don't get a comment from the wife that goes something like: "what are you buying now"!!

Sorry Pete I missed this, yes Moore & Wright is the one to have over here the royalty of instruments, Its a bit like your Snap On to you guys, but I have to confess my mic's are Moor & Wright but my clocks and calipers are Mitutoyo.

Make sure the Moore & Wright is made in Sheffield UK and not the other Sheffield in Wag Chan China.
Lets have a go
