This is the boat that I killed for a project boat that I am building I hoped to use the engine and all the running gear but as I was stripping the engine I found it had a cracked block, I guess that was the boat getting me back for killing it    I know it's a shame to strip her down but it worked out cheeper than buying the parts on there own.

This is the boat that I am building it's a copy of a 1954 crackerbox if you open each photo it will tell a bit about whats going on.

And this is a little video of my last build. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd6vkPjEy4U

I will have a few questions about the engine as I have never worked on a V8 before, but for now i just want to ask what is the plate on the rudder for you can see it in photo 45- 46 . I am building up a mockup of the boat to set the engine in so I can work out what angle to drill the prop shaft hole as I will be using a longer shaft. I am starting with the rudder then moving back enough so that the prop can come off add the strut then try and line up to the engine.
Well thats it for now " I'll be back"
Thanks for looking .

Fergal,

Welcome to CCF. You apologized for cutting up a Ski Nautique in your post in the Welcome thread.   I think you are safe from ridicule though in that I don't believe that is a Ski Nautique. Still looks like a nice boat to use as a donor boat, but it's your project and that sentiment is softened by the revalation that the engine is bad. I was confused in your slide show that I looked at before this post. I assumed the motor for your C-box was coming out of the donor boat, but slide 55 looks like a crate motor Is that a crate motor that you picked up after you found out the donor motor was bad?

Looks like you've got the Glen-L boat building thing down pretty well. I've had my eye on that crackerbox for years, but haven't had the time, resources, space to follow through. Looks like you're making good progress. Good luck with your project and sorry about the shot motor.

Thanks 75 tique, After I found the crack in the block I bought a recon 305 GM long block and then used all the gear off the donor engine with a few added chrome bits.
So is it even a correct craft, I know nothing about these boats maybe I'm on the wrong forum

I don't think it is a Correct Craft. But you are certainly welcome here. We like these kinds of projects. Keep us posted. And if any questions do arise, folks here can certainly answer them.

Really like those old mercs like on your first project.

I agree it is not a Correct Craft. What you have is a Sportique, made in the UK.
The windshield, dash, topside of the hull, pylon, even trailer look nothing like anything CC has made.
However, you do have a pretty cool project and we'd like to hear more about it when you get a chance.
