The 88 also had the same front air intake slits under the windshield like the 89, but did the 87 have that too, or they have the snout like the older ones? Didn't get the the rear exhaust outlet "booty shot" of the rear of the boat I was hoping for but sounds like you have an 88 with a later powetrain.

What Pete was saying above is that if the color is in the gel-coat, you'll never sand through it and if you could, you wouldn't want to.

The only thing that's clearly not original is the "Nautique" script when it should say "Ski Nautique" and have a couple other decals.
Also, there is Maroon in the rub-rail, which looks kinda cool, but probably not OEM either.

Overall though, I think it looks great. I would get a Powerplus suitable prop and go boarding!

It's an 88 and looks OK as is, sell it or leave it.
