Has anyone ever replaced the throttle controls on a prior 95 nautique? I bought the teleflex controls and need a few pointers.

not given, Some additional info is needed. Are you doing just a cable replacement? Then yes and it's very well documented on site. ( you can do a search) Or, if you are doing a compete helm control then, it's a different story!! If you are doing a helm change, Why??? Read the the responses to your other posts would be a great idea!! |

Sorry, i did not give much information. I found out that the black plastic housing for the brass spring was dry rotted on the factory control box, so I had to replace the entire box. Cables were in good condition. Just got done with the swap, not too difficult. Once I discovered that I could take the vinyl covered wood trim off easily, the rest was a piece of cake. Prett self explanatory. Most difficult step will be scribing the wooden upholstery piece, and have it redone to look factory. Also, forgot to mention, it covered part of the Maximum Occupants and Maximum Wieght Load. Is this critical?
I will take some pictures and post them this weekend. Thanks for the help! |

Post some pictures!
As far as covering that placard, I think it would matter which inspector you ran across. You could try to move it perhaps. Can you not see the capacities at all? Finally - email me (kevin.roundhill at gmail dot com) if you still have the old control unit and would be willing to part with the whole thing (or just the knob on the top, which is what I really need). I know about the cool knobs, that's a long-term goal. I have to prioritize my cash. There are lots of things to fix on my boat and as I go I am making a list of "must-do" and "would be nice" items. An awesome Correct Craft knob is part of the latter group.
I was just thinking that maybe for the price of a small USPS flat-rate box I might be able to get some pieces and parts... |
