This might be a stupid question if so just let me know.

Per the recommendations of 79Nautique and others I have ordered an electronic distributor for my 1967 Mustang with a 302 Ford. Still waiting for the part to arrive and have been playing with the points, etc.

Over the weekend I noticed that the timing (which I set around 10 degrees BTC at idle) does not advance when I go to higher RPM's.
1. This is incorrect right?
2.Would this cause the slow acceleration problem that I have been having.
3. What other running problems would this cause.
4. Is there anything I can do to fix this until the new distributor arrives if it is a problem?

Thanks for the help,

Brian

your machnaical advance isn't working and will cause the problems you discribe. You can remove the dist and try and free up the shaft and advance plate so they move freely.

bc is right had same problem with my 68 mustang, i put pertronix and new coil on
but it still wouldnt advance so lubed dist
up and seemed to get good results now it
shoots right out of the water, these ford
motors dont seem to mind some timing.
