Seb - Great video, always a weird perspective with the Go Pro. Still waiting to see a video with a deep water start (as opposed to the tumble up). The Tumble turns are really cool too!

Where is that Chocolate Milk water we are used to seeing??? HA!

Roy - Did you know you were that close to the bouy at the end of your back run, bet that was a bit of surprise, I think that could do a bit of damage to the old feet...

I did not know I was out that far. I have been practicing "cut-aways" to get the feel of moving around back there and I had no idea such little effort made me go out so far. I have hit buoys before, and they do not hurt in themselves, but the headpacker that comes with hitting bouys is not so good.

My next goal (obsession) are back wake crosses. I also went out Tuesday and had some, albeit awkward, success at crossing the wake backwards. No video, everyone was bummed, especially Andy who was frestyling on the high boom "out of his mind." Crazy stuff, Andre deVillier style!

It is just a lot of practice sebby. one day they just get better, esp. on the reverse. Going directly on the boom is good too.

Based on what I remember, you were pulling in with the arms, and that makes you plow. In a clinic with David Small, he was telling a guy to practice the one foot using only one hand. (the hand that is on the opposite site of the body than the foot on the water) This forced him into better position, better glide, because he could not muscle through it with both arms...

yesterday I focused on not bending my arm and trying to put foot in the water in the same line that the knee...

i´m fine (almost) on the left foot (i´m a regular) but always catch toe while doing rigth foots!

I will try 1 hand! I´ve been also doing dryland practice lifting the leg using the stomach etc..I can nail them there, but on the water, hard!!! LOL

anyway it was a slow winter, not to many footing as i would have liked, but at least i managed to go out at least twice a month....hard to find drivers!!!

with the warmer weather I guess finding some crew and groupies will be little easier!

good idea to use your boom to get those one foots down, the one handed one foots do help and it translates well for when you get to one foot wakes. Get your one foots bulletproof. Try your toeholds longline(it may be easier than off 5ft/boom)

I still hang directly on the boom just goofing off or trying new stuff.

Never forget the boom is a tool.

That is exactly how I taught myself the sideslide(with a written description from Lane Bowers) and you can see from the video that I can rock it on the longline too now.

My focus is now on getting my front to back locked in "automatic"

but I am going on a little sidetrack first with that sideslide fade to back...when you just transition the sideslide into backwards and then back sideslide to front...done it accidently so far

We always like pictures of the Sebastian Groupies...

I definitely hear you guys on the one foots, for me the right one feels good, but the left one, that is shakey. I too have the tendancy to pull in with the arms. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Seb - my work schedule this summer left me only about two days a month, I'll have to try and improve on that over our winter - HA!

I love doing the sideslide, the feeling is almost like weightless, you can easily let go with one hand. The friction with the water is just less while tall in a sideslide. It did take me 4 summers or so chipping away at it.

I think this was some of my first few times trying it.

these guys wakeskate off the boom...

Had a good set on Friday rippin front and back wake crossings. Andy gave me a tip on the back wake cross that is a game changer. I will be ripping back wake crosses at will by end of year!

Seb, really like first video. Good demonstration of how little you actually go under water, most of the spray is around you , not on top of you. AWESOME face plant. HA! And good to see the return of the muddy water...

Guys, I have been holding out on you. Here is some choice video of David Small I shot at one of our clinics this summer. Finally made a mivie of it. Rare footage of him on the boom. Enjoy.

He is amazing. Plus he sat in the boat in the heat for 8 hrs., then goes and rips that without even stretching. The water was perfect glass.

You or me they would have hauled away in a stretcher. Good she was young and flexible. Notice it is holding on to the handle too long that gives way to the scorpion. As I got more experienced, I learned to let go quicker. The low pull of the rope did not help either, BTW.

That was her "first try barefooting" and I'm thinking it was her last try too.

Poor thing is paying attention and trying and was unlucky enough to go out on a boat that was too cheap to get a boom.

Did you notice how rough it was?
