You just have to pause the video, then on my keyboard at the end of the "F" keys (across the top of the keyboard their is a key with "Prt Scr" button. I press "Ctrl" "Alt" "Shift" and the "Prt Scr" buttons and then move to the Paint application and paste the screen image in there. From there is is just cropping to get to the image you want.
It does make for some funny stills though! |

Steve: All that crazy falling MAY be a result of work on your mind. Barefooting for me gets my mind OFF that stuff. I have learned (especially with the back deep long line start) I need 100% focus while footing, 100% of the time or else I do not get the results I want. That being said, looks like you are planting at 20 MPH and getting your feet swept. Ride the butt glide longer, or ride the 3-point until you get more speed. Ups and downs are part of the ride! Stick with it...

Seb: I think the one-hand, one foot move is helping your one foots by not allowing you to pull in with your arms, like you have in the past. Nice job. Your toe hold looked really good until you flapped your arms up like a bird!!! LOL. Stay crunched; once you lift your arms up like that you lose the crunch. You just need to show the hands off the handle. The reason you did not get your foot back onto the water successfully is you lost your lean onto your foot on the water. Throughout that whole trick you need to keep leaned slightly over the foot on the water. For me, it became the main reason I could not complete my reverse toe-hold.
You should get in the habit of doing your reverse EVERY time you do your basic. I know more guys who can only do one side. |

so I replaced the bent rudder and the bent stuffing box - we were lucky because the rudder shaft bent and had cracked right at the base darn near broke it off and could have sunk - things coulda been alot worse. all better now($400 later) just gotta water test to be sure nothing happened to the prop - inspected it and can't find anything hoping for the best.
Hollywood- we ski my Sanger DX, Willies Malibu, Mark's 04 Sanger DXII Barefooter with a Proflight tower and superflyhigh, Jerrys Sanger DXII Barefooter with double stacked flyhighs, Roys Nautique, and others on occasion/as needed. Steve-I'm the one who hounds Roy to be sure he is giving 100% effort and 100% focus. I tell him 95 won't do it right after he misses a back deep or a toehold or whatever. Some people have a hard time leaving the "crap" on the dock so just do your best to forget everything while you are out in the boat---all the stuff will be there when you get back---and as far as not progressing--sometimes things seem like nothing is working(its just a bad day!) (I skied with Mark the other day and just ate it bad a few times tore my neckbrace off 3 or 4 times and I was DONE) persistant 100% efforts will suddenly produce results---maybe it will be the next time out :) And don't forget the boom(NO SHAME!)move back directly on the boom and you can then adjust your feet/foot position and get your glide on without falling--you can't progress without good basics/foudation look at Kap he's getting better right before our eyes(glad he had his boom high for that superman! LOL) -Kap you are leaning back too far and you need to ski with a bit more bend in the knee (unless its glass- then OK to stand high) "ski dirty" I think is what david small calls it- just a little lower. And as you lift a leg keep your knee bent since that will help keep the leg on the water knee bent. Also I see the pad you are using under the boom--if you can get a 2x6 and a hole saw or just notch it to desired height, run it from floor up to boom to support the high boom position and your dolphin will be off the hook since it will make a solid brace for the boom. |

If you can do it on trick ski, you can do it on one of these.
Never tried a walk-around. I know BKH's wife has one, when the opportunity presents itself again I'm sure I'll give it a go. CA Delta skier Mike Temby on his walk-around Download his BFC Freestyle Video Swivel skiing still reigns supreme as most difficult thing I've tried behind the boat. |

LOL I was going to post the exact same video.
These guys have taken the walk around to a whole new level. Mike also holds the speed record with Scott Pellaton for 2 guys towed barefoot at 99 mph. |

you want a cool figure 8 HW? C'mon down here next year. This past weekend me and Eddie went to KSO...Eddie drove and I judged. Way cool time. Run-off between KSO and David Small. Took 2 runs to decide. Had about 40 footers of all skill levels. Then they went to Cherry Pockets to 'warm-up' for the evening party at KSO's place.

Hollywood, RJ and I went out this AM. Finally some proof of my back deeps. They are progressing, I admit I did better in FL, maybe the warm temps and water had more of an effect then I thought. Anyway, practice, practice, practice. Will post some HW videos tomorrow (they are still processing)

When Hollywood's movie finishes processing it can be viewed here:
Some good stuff in there. Some really good one foots, including a toe hold, a bouncing tumble turn and an almost back to front. Nice work! |

Arctic Productions quite appropriately named.
Steve you showed plenty of determination there if the air temp was 41F how cold was the water. |

Brrrrrr!!! But good footing and Steve, you definitely get points for determination and effort. Being that cold when trying something new certainly doesnt make it any easier. You are lucky to have a driver who knows what he is doing. You can tell by the way he responds to where you are and what's happening. That helps a lot.

steve- you're just trying to pop up too fast - be patient. you will get it. be sure you are bending at the waist. cold water is tough to learn in but with determination it'll work All the efforts I saw were very close to success |

Mark - "Arctic Productions" came from my snowmobiling video's - it just kind of carried over into the footing. HW "claims" the water was warmer then the air, but without a water thermometer on board its tough to tell, they seemed about the same to me.
Larry - HW's driving was OUTSTANDING - He rocks! That makes all the difference in the world. When we were reviewing what I was going to do once I got in the water, I even told him, "Once I get in the three point and am steady and relaxed, it's all up to you!" Andy - I kind of felt that might be the case in the water, and I came to the same conclusion when I saw the video (what little you can see). I think I also need to lean a little more away from the boat as well. Looking forward to the next chance to give it another go! hoping for less wind next time both from cold and rough perspective... |

Your doing fine Steve. You'll get it. We've all been there.
Me learning (2008) And now look (2010) (and I am a wicked old fart) (I do think its a little easier when the temp is above 41) Also, and not to take away from HWs teaching at all but I would seriously consider a neck brace (although I realize you my have had to skip that due to the drysuit) and a pair of good shoe skis (not crappy tennis shoes like I was using). I was doing it but it was hit and miss till one session with shoe skis and that clinched it for me. |

old dogs learn new tricks! think I was 58 in this video. wait thru the tumbles and you'll see some bacerds. helps to have a teacher/driver like Eddie or HW. the driver really does make a difference. two words...neck brace! agree with GlassSeeker; bend at the waist and feel that water on your chest and chin. let your butt rise up first and the rest will follow. me and Eddie are skiing every saturday. water still warm here. C/Cfers always welcome. sorry Larry...had to show off a little too. john |

Larry and John; Yes, I have the neck brace just forgot to bring it along, will try it with the drysuit, but I suspect it may not work. At this point I am also keeping the speeds way down. Shoe skis / puppy paws are on the Christmas list... I think it is really funny when I feel my chin dragging in the water - that is always the "feel" I am shooting for, that and - "bend over, bend over, bend over..."

Hey Guys, from time to time, I have lamented constant sinus infections on this board, whether from barefooting or the Sacramento Valley air I do not know. I have been plagued with them, esp. the last 2 years. In fact the last 2 years I have been run down, drained, and resigned to it. I have posted a new discovery for me that has cleared me up in 5 days, and frankly as a by-product my energy is off the freaking chart. To chronicle this, I started a new thread:
Sinus Infections and other Disasters You may be surprised at what cleared me up, and why I ready to climb Mount Everest or pick a fight with a UFC fighter today...LOL. Check it out! |
