Well ok Eric. If you feel you are better off now than you were 4 years ago you should stick with what works and vot for Obama.'
As for me Obama lied too much, promised too much, and blames to much. I am not as well off as I was before Obama. I did well during Reagan, Bush, Clinton & Bush. I know Newt was a big part of my good Clinton years. Romney, while he may not have raised taxes did jack up fees which to me amounts to the same. As for the other canidates, they are just not capturing me. |

Did Ski just say he is dependent on federal student loans, and that he quit his job, for school, and .......??????? Ski might be part of OWS if he ever can see past the rhetoric. And here I thought Ski, would never accept a loan from the gov. |

No my student loans where with Wells Fargo when I started but because Mr Loser Obama and his progressive movements in education, the federal goverment has taken over education loans. No , these peps on wall street, over half of them had never had a job, smoke dope, they are not very bright people. They hate it that the people have more brains to make money then they have but to ask for a free handout. I LOVE RICH PEOPLE!!! |

Tonights debate?
I think you conservatives on here might be right about the baggage of all the candidates not really mattering. Nothing seems to be able to stop what is happening in that party. And what is this the 15th debate? Who sponsored this one? Americans for prosperity or the Heritage foundation? Where you are wrong is the baggage will mount up in the primary. Newts baggage is pretty big actually. Remember he became speaker, faced ethics charges, resigned ( I think ), and his own party threw him out. That might affect him against an incumbent. Not to mention Newts latest statements about child labor laws. That will hurt. Have you heard it? It goes pretty well with the talk here about school loans. Frankly, ( Newts word ), I cannot honestly understand how anyone here can stand by Newt after the child labor talk he gave. Cain I understood, but this is straight from his mouth. It is interesting this debate tonight has a general topic of foreign policy, like the last one. Especially Cain, he has already said the President doesn't need to know much. Newt and Romney have flipped so many times recently in regards to foreign policy it is sort of interesting how they plan to represent a solid position tonight. Somehow, I think the republicans only position on foreign policy is, IRAN, Afganistan, Iraq etc. Bomb them. Period. |

Dave,
I reread a post of mine above. Sorry man, for the disrespect. Honestly I respect your past EMT work, more than I can even express really. That was out of line, sorry. |

One wheel- I'm still waitiing your explination of what what OWS actually is about? As for Newt his baggage is well known, documented, and accounted for. If he doesn't become the canidate I'll deal with it. You have to prepare just in case he is. Because he'll take on Obama and his (Obama's) dirt, and past may have to be answered. Ther'll be no free ride this time.

Why wait to be fed someone else's view of what Occupy is all about? Do your own research and arrive at your own conclusion. A sure way to become misinformed on an issue is to ask one person and then think to yourself Oh, Really, now I know. You arrive at uninformed by getting you information from only one news source as well. |

Oner, Newt will make Obama look like a welfare case in a stand up debate.
Obama has failed in EVERY catergory. healthcare, free market, private sector, education, wall street. He creat not one job in August or september. He spends more than we take in. Proposed the "Death Tax" which has goverment entilments to seize citizens property. I could go on and on and on. This guy is WORTHLESS TO America!! And HATES THE MILITARY... BTW, thanks for your service. I sent 100 bucks to the wounded warrier project on veterans day. |

Seth, sometimes passion overcomes that little part of our brains where tolerance and consideration lives, (or so I have heard ). I understand where you where coming from, I can never understand what you have been through,I believe my time and experience in a uniform, while certainly entirely different from yours, does give me some perspective. Most scars do not show, I have seen things that some days I think everyone should have to see, and other days I wish no one ever had to. I did not loose any limbs (clueless me I finally understand your screen name), but I used up a lot of my back, I worked 24 hour shifts that interrupted my sleep cycles, and 8 years after leaving that field, I still don't sleep right. I still would not trade away those years of service and doing what I loved. It is our collective experiences that determine, change, or cement our viewpoints, so of course we believe them to be correct. My paramedic career got me inside the lives of all walks of life at some pivotal moments. I have seen how the system works, and mostly it does not. Those waiting for someone else to fix their problem are going to be disappointed, it is those that are self reliant that thrive. You can give someone a pole and bait, put them in a boat on a lake, but if they have never learned how to fish, or learned that they even need to, they are going to starve. |

I thought I gave some explanation, but if you want some more, I went through the research for you. You are welcome, it took all of .35 seconds from Google. (Joking, icons aren't working for me.) ---What is the demand? Nothing short of DEMOCRACY. What is the action? Building a society that values each human being through an exemplar community that puts a premium on DEMOCRACY. What is the Problem? The crony capitalism of Wall Street is corrupting the democracy of the United States of America. The demand is reasonable. The complaint is valid, and the methodology is peaceful. Here is a conversation with Al Grayson, FL congressman ----Grayson: Let me tell what they’re talking about. They’re complaining about the fact the Wall Street wrecked the economy three years ago and nobody’s held responsible for that. Not a single person has been indicted or convicted for destroying twenty percent of our national net worth accumulated over two centuries. They’re upset about the fact that wall street have iron control over economic policies of this country and that one party is a wholly owned subsidiary of wall street and the other party caters to them as well, that’s the truth of the matter as you said before. And… O’Rourke: Get the man a bongo drum, they’ve found their spokesman! Grayson: If I… O’Rourke: Get your shoes off, get a bongo drum, forget where to go to the bathroom and it’s yours. Grayson: If I am the spokesman for all the people who think we should not have twenty four million people in this country who can’t find a full time job. That we should not have fifty million people who can’t see a doctor when they’re sick. That we shouldn’t have forty seven million people of this country who need government help to feed themselves. And we shouldn’t have fifteen million families who owe more on their mortgage than the value of home, OK, I’ll be that spokesman.. Or another description. ----Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants. This #ows movement empowers real people to create real change from the bottom up. We want to see a general assembly in every backyard, on every street corner because we don't need Wall Street and we don't need politicians to build a better society Here is another. ---From Michael Daly in Newsweek: . "They looked like Americans—ordinary people fed up by the unfairness that has infected our national life in recent years. It’s the unfairness of reckless financiers triggering a brutally harsh economic crisis, accepting a government bailout, and then going on to become even richer while everybody else has been left to struggle." One last one, by the way Google returned 2,830,000 hit for OWS explanation. ----Their goal is to point out that our economic system is just plain not working for most people. They want people to question whether it has to be that way. They want people to think about how it ended up favoring such a small minority, while leaving most normal people struggling. They believe that an economy that isn't designed to work for everyone is a badly designed economy. As for having a specific set of policy suggestions: many members of the movement have ideas for how to make things better. But those are just suggestions, experiments to try. The suggestions aren't set in stone. What is set in stone is the idea that we need to start experimenting, and we need to keep it up until we find a system that works for everyone. As for a manifesto: any small group of protestors could conceivably get together and write a manifesto. But since the movement has no agreed-upon leader, that would just be a small group writing their views: interesting, but not representative of the movement. Ok 1 more. ---A MESSAGE TO AMERICA FROM THE PEOPLE’S ASSEMBLY IN ZUCOTTI PARK Dear fellow Americans, We are assembled in Zucotti Park — which we’ve renamed Liberty Plaza — in the financial district of New York, because we believe that the American economy is heading in the wrong direction and we have a few ideas for what to do about it. There is a feeling shared by a growing number of people on the streets of the world that the global economy has become a kind of Ponzi scheme, a global casino, run by and for the benefit of the 1 percent. We believe that it is possible to inject justice into the global economy. We have come up with the following list of things that can be done right now to rejuvenate democracy and economic justice in our country: • Halt foreclosures for the unemployed, sick and elderly • Increase funding to public services by taxing the richest 1 percent • Forgive all student loan debt • Reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act in order to control speculation • Work with the other G20 nations to implement a 1% “Robin Hood” tax on all financial transactions and currency trades • Ban high-frequency ‘flash’ trading and bring sanity to the markets • Break up the “too big to fail” banks that threaten our future • Arrest the financial fraudsters responsible for the 2008 meltdown and bring them to justice • Ordain a Presidential Commission tasked with ending the influence corporate money has on our elected representatives in Washington |

When I first started driving tow trucks, the trucks were often used as tools to remove cars to access the injured or dead, and I usually worked very close with EMTs. Jaws of life and well equipped and trained fire fighters, took that job from me. Never complained about them taking it, and will never forget what I saw some nights. So yeah, even though it didn't sound like it, I respect your dedication, it is a job I wouldn't want. Having relied on EMTs when I needed it, I realize what ass I was. |

I had alreaady included the pot and free student loans.
So John B and One Wheel it is safe to say you to are better off now than you were four years ago and already have someone to vote for. Glad that's working out for you. However some of us are not in the same position so please try to understand why we don't agree with you. Why were OWS members heckling Obama today? I thought they were together on this movement. |

You are hilarious! It is true, I don't want to work for nothing, I expect to receive compensation for my labors. Maybe the F King will pay me. I wasn't aware we had ANY king that gave handouts. Where do I find this F King? And as far as being a lazy bastard, some may say that. I retired 5 years ago at 53. With all the handouts I receive why work? My neighbors near my summer home are lazy bastards too. They must all be taking handouts to support their lake homes. I know that of the 11 homes on the shoreline nearest mine none of the owners work. I suspect they are all taking handouts too. It is easy to maintain my homes, boats, motorcycles, and other toys with all that handout money from Obama. I did sell the Cessna though. Maybe with an additional handout I will look into another home somewhere warm for the winter. I prefer one that was owned by a family and was foreclosed on, preferably a veteran. I guess I should shop at Chase or BofA for one of those. |

Yeah, not sure on the Obama heckling, but I can tell you without any doubt. Progressives, aren't all that thrilled about Obama. Obama might be better than anything on the horizon for them, but not a perfect President who does deserve to have his feet held to the fire, like any other politician. |

John B, You got me!! I can't argue with the early retirement and government handouts. Were you a general or a postal worker? I am definately jelous. You have the time to sit around and polish up your spelling.
Onewheel- Do you remember Carter? He was a one term Pres, Bush Sr. (with Perot's help) also one term. Why is it that Obama deserves two. Maybe the step aside and let Hillary take over is a better idea. At least she has balls! |

I've seen a lot of words as to what OWS is. Still not sure it makes much sense to me yet. Let me see if I have it right....
The 99% are actually the 50% who pay no taxes at all. They feel entitled to be supported by the other 50% who do pay taxes. They are pi%%ed off that those of us who do pay all the taxes already, aren't givng them enough free sh#t. They want even more free sh#t and are protesting their asses off to get it. If only they knew that the 1% are paying by far the largest percentage of any group out there already. So, I think I have it figured out now. OWS=Socialism. Is that about it? |

Yeah, that is how the name started. Riding motorcycles since I was a kid has taught me the tricks of wheelies. I sold my last motorcycle after 1 too many times down, in 2005. That time just about cost me my life, and since I cannot get another life , I hung the bikes up.
The name really fits now, so I kept it. I have a friend, who still rides after a nasty accident. He lost his leg, and still rides without any modifications, other than shifter relocation. He always attracts attention, but that is because he still has not stopped his hooligan skills, and seeing him dismount on one leg confuses most after just seeing how he rode. |

You have made quite a statement, not sure on your reasoning, or reading comprehension, but still a hell of a statement. I will play along with your poor attempt at sarcasm, only because I think it is good entertainment. Only because I know the talking points you stick to, I know what it is you are trying to tell me, even if you think your question was taken as a serious question. You didn't even want a good answer. You wanted exactly what you got. A chance to call OWS socialism. Put Nazi in there next time, your partners will admire you for that. Ouch, you big meanie. Go hang with SKI, you too have the same glasses on. What you really came up with that explanation you gave above? That statement, almost word for word is posted all over then net, that one is better than your version though. You should have pasted it word for word. |
