that wake on that boat is so sweet, Willie Farrell was ripping one-hand, one foot wake crosses. I have never seen him do that before.

Yea Roys a happy camper

I ran over my oldest spectra rope that I hated from day 1 for its ability to tangle I had named it a tangleamatic. Wrapped it and I think from the sound it ripped it in half (good thing the rope wasn't around anything) but then it took all 3 of us to get that rope off the shaft...I think the water is mid 40s. I don't really want know how cold it is. But a hood really helps right now.

heres roys wake

the plate is a cavitation plate also known as the barefoot plate and it is also a trim tab but it is set and fixed and only manually adjustable. It works really well on the Sanger hull because of the "delta pad" a large flat triangle at the stern keel that ends at the plate. So its a semi v hull with a flat pad. Without the plate the wake is actually similar to a Ski Nautique wake.

on the boom jack. keep it simple, just a 2x6 with a notch on top and/or a hole (cut out with holesaw or jig) to run boom thru--really only needed to get boom super high.(or to keep boom off gunnel)

happy new to him boat owner

At first I thought Roy was cutting through a slalom course. Keep an eye on the temp gauge!

you guys got exited with roys new toy and missed my action! lol...

boom was so high and I used the ezfooter..hoa to climb through the cables to reach the handle after a fall...

still dirty the side slide...I don´t feel it smooth yet, I´m leaning back a lot and touching the water with my hand.... If I keep both hands on the handle..i take some nice face on the water moves..

Just a little tidbit of info:

After watching William Farrell doing a front to back on the 5ft rope/handle off the boom which we very rarely see him do we have concluded that a front to back (and turns in general) are easier on the longline! At least for Willie. I asked him about it and he said he had learned his turns longline. He still tricks on poly e rope too, possibly the only competitor using poly e anymore(that I know of), he likes the "give" in the rope but does use non stretch for wake slalom(of course he has no choice here!you can use your own trick rope but the slalom rope is the tournament provided rope).

Of course it could have been that he was just cold since as I left to go the temp was 46

kap
be careful, only sideslide in glass, wrap the ez footer a few times to get it even shorter til you can do it without falling away/ putting hand down(that will be a bad habit to get in), even if you need to go direct on boom to get it gliding. as long as you keep it high and short your knees will be fairly "safe" and you just (in this case) don't let go if you catch an edge, just tumble back around and keep sidesliding, don't be in a hurry to get out on 5 feet or lowering the boom for aleast one whole summer of doing it. just wait til you try the scissors on the boom. that is a biotch to slide your feet back and forth without catching but it is fun.

so about 90% of your weight should be on your left foot, with it's heel slightly forward(so turned a little past 90 degrees) the right foot is the "show foot" and should be turned 90 degrees and have 10% of your weight on it, keep looking forward eyes up, head up, both hands on handle til you really "get it" then let go with one hand and it'll be easy because you will be gliding.

just remember- as you lower the boom and add rope it increases chances of knee injury. as long as its high and short it will just pull your legs underneath you, and it will teach you how to fall while in this position, its kind of a side roll crash.

heres a longline sideslide wipeout at the end

Nice looking boat Roy....those Sangers really do have sweet wakes. I always look forward to skiing behind them at tournaments.

Water was 50 and air about 55. I bought that Gooru on eBay which was advertised as a Medium. It's an XL, so lucky day for Feelgood.

Reverse backslide?

The last time I wore a Medium suit I was 20# lighter and still didn't enjoy it. Every seam was imprinted to my skin for about an hour afterwards. Tight suits sure glide nice though.

I went for a 2 more front flips and got crazy air on the bounce, which may have contributed to the outer cable coming out of its turnbuckle and letting loose on a run. Should be able to find close open water this weekend, gotta get the drysuit glue out first though!
