I JUST PURCHASED A 1986 SILVER NATIQUE WHICH THE PERSON I PURCHASED IT FROM SAID THEY REPLACED THE STEERING CABLE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WHEN I AM RUNNING STRAIGHT AHEAD, IF YOU TAKE YOUR HANDS OF THE STEERING WHEEL, IT WILL TAKE A SHARP RIGHT TURN EVERYTIME. IT WILL ALSO MAKE A WHISTLING OR BUZZING TYPE SOUND WHEN MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS. ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

Right rand drift is fairly normal due to the torque of the prop. Try tightening up the steering nut a bit and the rudder packing nut. Just keep in mind that you want the boat to self center. There are also other ways to counteract the drift by filing on the rudder or skegs to force the boat to want to drift left ever so slightly. The buzzing sound is probably vibrations transmitting through the rudder and into the steering cable. Tightening things up will probably help eliminate this noise. Make sure the cable block is good and tight to the stringer. Also, consider going with a four blade prop to significantly reduce vibrations while making hard turns.
