Jeff, Im a little behind- but Id vote for gray pleated vinyl instead of black or white. Between those, Id go with the white though. On the floor, I see youre using Nautolex... which would have been original in the 60's and early 70's. By '75 though, wouldnt CC have used carpet? You can still get the black/gray grass carpet that would be perfect for your boat.

Black seats would look cool, but bear in mind how hot they'll get in the hot summer sun. My boat has a black carpet for the floor and it can get pretty scorching at times.

Well finally figured out how the interior is going to be! not much to work with, but this is it.
 rear seat configuration, and gunnel shelves! some still need cpes.

Wanted to show how we incorperated the rear lift ring to tramsom plate, also worked on the stereo today. when interior gets back its going to get 2 more speakers in the side panels.

Just got done tearing the dash apart, gonna have to buy 20 sets of gauges to fill the holes
look at the differance on the 2 dashes top on is off a 72 and bottom off 75 i/o version. the dash on the 75 was actually made out of masonite with the wood grain look  . and look at the rats nest for a wiring harness, to bad there isnt a place that makes harnesses, but i guess i need something to do this week!

Hello Dave! thanks for the nice comment, kegan, new gauges on the way all new wiring will start this week hopefully. i think cc had a multi purpos dash, i think im going to redesign the gauge positions similiar to the 72 panel, not 100% sure tho! gary no i didnt a buddy took care of it for me
 my hand is not that steady any more

Threadjack: You mean like this?  That is the dash in this homemade amphibious car.  I am aware of it because it was built by the same guy from the small town I lived in in NY who built this back in the 90s when I was still there. Some of you may remember my posting pictures and the story of the "Dobbertin Surface Orbiter" a few years ago. This pic was taken at the boat club where I kept my supra.  Not sure where this one was taken. Not local to me.  The guy is clever, a dreamer, a hugely skilled craftsman, but unfortunately the hydrocar was kind of a bust. Despite over 700 HP, it won't plane off. Its way too heavy and has a surface drive which never had the right orientation to get the nose up. His plan was to have it run like a tunnel hydro. The sides of the car hydraulically drop down and are supposed to act like pontoons, but it never got up to speed. He fiddled with it for a while, but has given up and is trying to sell it, mostly as a show novelty instead of an amphibious that actually works. debbertin hydrcar |
