Thanks for the input Billy but while the boatdr is undoubtably a marine professional, JoeinNY is a recreation professional... this is what I do, please don't be offended if I do with your recreation advice what you would do with my motor repair advice.

The intent of my post is to share just enough planning to make sure people know what they might experience should they come down.... and make sure that they know where to go and who to contact when they get down there so they don't wander around by themselves when they could be hangin with the fans! I hope you don't feel I was trying to dictate to you what you must do with your vacation.

I have selfish reasons for all this of course.. I like to meet and hang out with as many people as possible, and I try to make sure they have as good a time as possible so that they come back either the next year or another event so I can hang out with them again. But, it is a victimless crime, so until the fun police catch up to me I don't plan to reform.

Joe, great overview. It gives us newbies an idea of what to expect. Its helpful to know where people may be, especially those of us who will be relying on others for on-water transportation.

I'll pack a barefoot suit.

Looking forward to it brother...

We can do dock pickups at Parramore's, and Blairs on the way out, start time will depend on weather. Later arrivals we will pickup at the blackwater as it is on the correct side of the no wake zones.

Billy, did your computer get tired of all the SJRR traffic on the site and quit on you?

Hollywood...hope it works out in favor of a trip to come down and play with us.

Jonathan....no worries my friend, you don't need a boat to hang with us as there will be plenty available to catch a ride in. First time I met JoeinNY was at SJRR a few years back as he just drove up in the rental car, parked it by the ramp, jumped out and said "Hey, I'm Joe Fennessy... can I hitch a ride?" picked him up on the dock, tossed him a cold beer and we've been friends ever since.

Joe, I for appreciate the long post as I too am dragging the boat down for an overdose of watersports, boating and etc. Thanks for the breakdown and you and I both know that most of the weekend we just play it by ear but still kinda sorta come up with a "plan".

Plan is for me to leave before the sun comes up Thursday morning so I should be there by lunchtime.

LOOKING FORWARD TO IT FANS! DON'T MISS IT AS IT'S GONNA BE A GREAT ONE!

Guys,
John and I are planning on getting there about 8AM on friday. I'm sure that we'll have to get some food refrigerated at a minimum before we can start playing but I for one would love to hook up with you. I don't want to commit John to anything but I think we could probably talk him into it also.
The biggest problem I have will be as soon as John starts seeing everybody, he turns into a social butterfly and getting him into a barefoot suit at that point will be very difficult. I may be calling one of you to come pick me up!

That should not be a problem Eddie. I'm sure there will also be a boat hanging around that you could also jump in and head out to meet us. I'm not a barefooter, but I'm plan on being out there early also, because I love to see the early action. If you need a ride I can shoot back and grab you. Of course, that means commandeering someone's boat (probably one of Reid P's) to make it back, since I'm flying in.

Joe's "no plan" schedule makes me want to bump my flight by a day and get in Wednesday evening. We'll see. (BTW - thanks for the loose schedule. I know it helps me. I'm sorry to be missing the fried festival on Wednesday night.)

Tim Morfoot....it sounds like we should be arriving around the same time on Thursday (unless I'm able to bump my flight), so maybe we can hook up if the guys are out on the river.

Sounds good Murph...I hope to be there by 1:00 if not earlier.Plan on only stopping for fuel in South Georgia and maybe a quick pitstop to let loose of the mornings coffee. Will probably stop at the turn in for Parramores and put up the CCFan banner I have from last year roadside so newbies know their close to the event.

Stace & I and the security (our 4yr old German Shepherd) will be leaving early on Thursday so the plan is to be rolling in at Parramores by around 9am.

No problem Murph. I'll actually have my boat there so I can always use that. I didn't want to get too many boats around a bunch of footers. I was also figuring John would then have a boat to come meet everybody when he's finally done socializing.

This could certainly change completely as soon as we get there!!! Nothing carved in stone by any means.

I'm certainly not one of the seasoned veterans, but last year we kind of camped out at a spot on the river and used that as the base for the early morning footing. That seemed to work pretty good. Not too many boats were actually moving, so as to keep the water nice. Nonetheless, I look forward to meeting more folks and learning as much as possible.

Joe. Your post about festivities really got me going. As a newbie it sounds like everything I love (bare footing and beer)! If my daughters don't make it to the state speech meet I am now going to try to leave a day or two sooner. Won't know that till mid march. Thanks for the pep talk!

Joe, I am sure we can find you a commitee to head up next year. So far a few of us have put this thing on for a few years without you,if you would like cotact Karen or myself and we share some of the "FUN"....

Again on the "plan" the campground is rather small, the cafe smaller and Command Central next door to the eatery, things are not spread out .Those few that are not Parramores residents will find registration and info available from Thursday am until.....Boat dr

Doc,

This is hilarious. I'm assuming you're joking. I've never known Joe to "blow smoke" (well, besides a couple of motors maybe). I know you've met Joe at several events and if anyone on this site continuously backs up what he says, it's Joe.

I know that you've owned this event for the last few years and no one is trying to take over the non-planning of the event. You have to admit that with so many folks rolling in, it is pretty nice to know some what/where/when. A loose schedule is welcome by most, if not all. The newbies are more encouraged to drop by if they know what's going on. It would be pretty disappointing if someone dropped in on the event and the campground was empty or nearly empty.

Anyway, fun will be had by all, especially me (probably being pulled behind Joe's boat. )

Small matter here, BUT, I do not own this event. With that being said, a lot of us Do. This is an event, where, we all play an important role, the attendee's are the reason for this event.
