Barges come through from time to time sweet you can hang a rope on and you'll be home in no time! I wouldnt want to paddle from SR44 to SR40 long 17 miles of not a thing. i've driven it in pitch black night with a mag light I can't recommend that one again.

Can't believe I'm saying this but it's gonna be hard to leave this beautiful midwest weather we're having. We're in the 70's all week so the 2012 ski season is underway here in Iowa. I may even be in skiing shape by the time we get to Florida a week from today!

Jerry we should all be at Hontoon Island by 10 am or at least on the way. I think what little plan we have is to leave Paramores by 8:00am. I believe it will truly be decided by the Fans that are there and how soon all can re-coop from the previous nights activities and can get going. Some may opt not to make the 25 mile run up river and settle for some smooth open water on one of the side lakes on the way. Your guess is as good as mine. You may want to call ahead to see what's the scoop! If you can get anyone.

I did my old jet skis bearings in a Walmart parking lot, not only did they carry the wheel bearings I needed, but they sold a real nice crescent wrench.

The only thing I didn't have with me that day was a grease gun so when I asked John to ask for a little bit of grease to repack the bearings from the auto shop he came back empty handed and said..."The Manager said they sold grease in the auto dept but we aren't going to give you any."    This after he loaned john some jack stands and a floor jack.

He later came back with a piece of cardboard full of grease. I guess his conscience got the better of him.

Beautiful spring day here in GA and perfect for washing/waxing the tow vehicle and putting the final touches on 'Miss Scarlett' getting her all prettied up for the party. Waiting on a new fuel supply line from the Boat Nurse and working on this white boys' pre-River Run tan.

Less than 2 weeks to go so it ain't too late to C'mon down!

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

+1 on the solo cups - Billy talked to the ranger on the island and that is also a solo cup zone.. dock, island, etc. Red Solo Cups are all the latest fashion this year anyway.

IN ADDITION TO THE LAST POST... THE GESTAPO LIKES THE NO WAKE ZONE'S ALOT IN THE RIVER, UNDER 1000 RPM AND BARELY A RIPPLE , JUST A HEADS UP AND REMEBER ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE GATOR FANS. ALSO REMEMBER ALOT OF THE AREA IS STATE PARK/FOREST GHETTO BLASTING THE RADIO CLOSE TO SHORE IS A SURE HANGING. THEY WERE CALLING IT PRETTY TIGHT ALL LAST SUMMER TO MAKE $ , I AM SURE THIS YEAR WILL BE NO DIFFERENT.

Just a heads up for any CCFans who are headed to the River Run for the first time. I HIGHLEY recommend that you bring an anchor if you got one, Boat Bumpers if you have them or go get you some if you ain't got em' already (at least 2), long enough rope to be able to tie your boat to another one as I'm sure several raft ups will occur during the weekend, and finally, a sleeve of Solo cups for the boat. Barney has paid us a visit while most of us were in the Silver Glen and it's marked that no alcohol beverages are allowed in the spring area.

( See the attached picture of Jbear demonstrating the proper use of a Solo cup with an illegal beverage while escorting Barney out of the spring area.)

I heard from MaddMark today. He and his brother Keith will be bringing the Ski Lime.
For some reason I could not add them on to the list tonite...

And yes Foot...you deserve some swag for saving our trip. Might have just bled out thru the thumb if you guys had not returned to save us. Spent a very nice nite at your house drinking your booze before you sent us on our way early the next morning!
