    Posted: August-07-2011 at 10:35am
After a solid crash yesterday it is time to for a new barefoot suit. After going in head first the back of the suit was left hanging - torn on both side creating sort of a mudflap look. - Sorry video's of this one.
Looking for some thoughts on the differenct types of suits that our out there - Eagle, KSO, Iron etc. Pro's / Cons.
Thanks

Can't go wrong with Eagle, never had a real issue with any of thier stuff, and if I did it was quickly taken care of at no expense.

eagle, kso, and BI iron are all good

if you do lots of tumbles the BI with short sleeves.

kso and eagle look very similar but "feel" different both are top quality as is BI

Im thinking about buying the one from "The Footers Edge for 299.00 i think Lane Bowers endorses it and buying the shorts for extra padding. Thoughts??????? Going to try and get it before White Lake

That will be a Barefoot International suit, good suit. With padded shorts will give you a ton of padding. I use some 2mm shorts from barts because I don't like too much pad but thats just personal preference. If you want all the padding you can get then the BI suit and padded shorts combo is the way to go. I think Lane "guarantees" it too...LOL

Have had too many friends BI suits tear up lately. I have had little to no problems with Eagle's stuff. IMO. I would like to get some opinions on KSO's stuff, that may be a local option for you too.

I picked up a BI suit last year and consider it to be a better suit thzn the Eagle that I had previously. Got mine from Lake Elmo Sports - Chuck has always been great to deal with

If you are worried about looking cool- KSO or Eagle are more stylin than BI, Lake Elmo had some KSO suits discounted earlier this year maybe still has some.

(I had bought a tower and super fly high from Lane and I did not like it so called Lane on the guarantee...I said it did not make me ski better and eventually after getting Mike S involved got all my money back. So Lane will back up his guarantees when you push it.) I've had BI suits last years and years.

Both similar in construction. RS went out of business and Eagle is selling the remaining inventory for him.

Chuck(@ Eagle), recently designed this suit for me.

My Eagle was in need of some repair (see first post of this thread) and had a difficult time in obtaining an estimate for a repair from Eagle. By the time I did hear back from them I already had a new suit from Elmo and had been back on the water for a couple of weeks. I like the way the BI suit fits and glides on the water.

From my understanding Ocentec outsources their work overseas, but they are a US company.

And where do you think the neoprene comes from for the suits that are stitched here?

Same place that they are stitched??

I'm not knockin' BI products. They make good products wherever they come from, I was just pointing out that the barefoot suits (to my knowledge) are not made in the U.S. That they are outsourced to a outside company and they elect to have them made in bulk outside our boarders. I own thousands of dollars of BI products and I am very very pleased with them. I don't think most every pro out there would use them(w/ the exception of their suits), if they were not some of the best equipment out there.

As I said I have 3 BI suits all have "Made in USA" labels in them. They are all older suits so I can't say what currently is happening with them.

I ordered a custom Eagle from Chuck and Michelle and after Chuck signed off on my design and the suit was made and shipped to me I was hugely disappointed that they had made a mistake and swapped an ink color. When I brought it to Chucks attention he said I was wrong, then he said somebody would lose their job and then told me how expensive it was to change inks on the dies blah blah blah...I told him I wanted the suit I had ordered and that he had signed off on. He was so PO'd because I had my name on the back and so he would not be able to sell it off he could only donate it to the YMCA and he was not going to make me the suit he had signed off on. I then talked to Michelle and offered to pay standard price and take the suit as is which she did. I was not too happy with the transaction to say the least.

I have BI, Intensity from both China and Australia, Vortex from China, a bunch of Eagles- only the custom says Made in USA.

I do not think quality is better or worse on any of these suits ---all seem pretty equal in quality.
