So I have been pulling of all the accessories from my engine getting it ready to be painted today. Well after I rolled it back in the garage I found all of these metal balls under the engine. They look like ball bearings but I have no idea where they came from. Anyone know where they came from?

Thanks guys. I have no idea where these would have come from. I guess I will just have to keep an eye out and see if I see anywhere that they could have come from.

If that is truly where they came from and your engine is still hanging on it, I would be really carefull!!!!!!

By the way Joe, I've seen your engines spit out a lot of them things before
When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

Nah it is not a big deal. I have my engine on a stand I made out of 2 X 12s standing on edge to mimick stringers. Then the castors are on a 2x4 frame under that. If I lost a wheel it would just be hitting the 3 wheel motion for a little bit.

This is my engine sitting on the stand I made.

Kris,
When selecting casters, always look at the weight rating. Don't just grab anything that is cheap at HD!!

BTW, Listen to Joe. He's had stuff come out of his engines that he really didn't want coming out!!

I did, each of those castors were rated at something like 260 pounds, that is a total weight supported of over 1000. I figured it would be OK. I did not take into consideration the lip going back into my garage. (I think that is what made one of them blow up.)    Thankfully I will not need these much longer so I will make due.

I checked when I got home yesterday and these did come from the castors. The front right castor to be exact. It still had about half of the bearings still in there so it is still functional for the time being. I am going to see if I can push these back in to limp it along fr a few weeks until I put the engine back in the boat.
