Hi,
Gave the new boat a good once over this weekend. When I purchased it, the running lights and bilge blower were not working. I got the lights figured out fairly quick, but no such luck on the blower. I tried putting power to the wire coming off of the switch at the dash, no luck. Where is the blower motor located so I can check it out? I looked under the engine cover, couldn't find it. Is it up by the tank? Derek |

Derek,
Since you didn't mention what boat you have again, I went back into your previous posts and found it's a 73 SN. This is important since there are different locations of the blowers. Yes, look back by the fuel tank. Check to see if you are getting the nominal 12 volts back there. On a 73 there could be other problem with the wiring. Are you getting 12 off the switch? Don't forget the ground back to the blower as well. |

Thanks.
It is a 73. Has power at the switch. Might be a pain in the ass to get at as there is now a bench seat in the back. |

Yea, once you remove the back rest, you'll see the blower under the port vent. You probably have some corrosion at the splices(butt connectors).

good luck on getting to the blower. if you need a new one go with a DetMar blower. best 3inch blower you can get! but if the old one squeals just get to the bushings and dab some motor oil on them. shut them right up :) i have saved many things just by dabbing a little 30W non-detergent oil on them. including three blowers

Putt he blower in yesterday, piece of cake.
Didn't have my camera, but my brother snapped a few shots of the interior (and my niece running around). And yes, the speakers on the skylon can be a pain in the ass :P |
