Could someone post up some pics of the winches mounted to the catcher's mit pole. I stopped by northern tool and picked up a winch thinking that all I needed to do was cut a hole for the cable to pass through the pole(I already have the 2 bolts/holes for the mounting), however when I went to test fit everything it looks like I'd need to notch the bracket on the winch as the cable would need to go at a downward angle to attach to the boat cleat. If you look at the link below the bracket ends right at the center of the cable drum and it appears that with the angle it would interefere with the cable attaching. Am I missing something or do I just need to find a different design? I also looked at the smaller 1600lb version but the mount on that one extends an inch past the drum.

I must be missing something or at least am having a hard time following what you are trying to do. A couple of pictures of the application would be great. What "cleat" are you going to? The bow eye on the stem? Where did you attach the winch?

sorry was having a brain fart, yes, the bow eye. On the Ramlin trailers circa 94 they started putting winches on the vertical "mit" post on the trailer (hitch side of the post). They they had a slice/hole through the post which the cable went through. Anyways I'll try to post up some pics tonight.
