    Posted: June-28-2012 at 7:28pm
I started working on getting my engine somewhat close to start getting it aligned with the prop shaft Tuesday night. In doing so I was running the Starbord rear mount down when I hear a loud pop come from under the mount. I got to looking and the nut came off the bottom of the mount.

I tried to put the nut back on but there was no threads sticking out, upon farther inspection the whole bolt had lifted from being threaded into something in the mount.

So I ran the mount back down and installed the nut again as tight as I could. Then ran the trans mount down again with the same problem. You guys have and idea what is going on and what a solution may be? The port side is working just fine by the way.

No, Based on where the pylon mounts in the engine cradle the stringers are the same height. I took the engine mounts apart while the engine was out of the boat and repainted them. When I put them back together I just put the mounts in the middle of the threads. That is why I am having to run them down to get to the shaft level.

That bottom nut on the rear mounts should be self locking. Sounds like the trundle threaded into the old isolator?

Yep, that is what is happening. It was not happening when I put the mounts back together though?
