Our current president and his party value class warfare and paying non-producers, and we have had 40+ months of unemployment over 8% more than all other presidents combined. You are right it is about the party's values.

Eric....I am going to challenge you here. Can you please tell me what Obama's values are? I would love to hear your perspective. In fact, I'll go first on Romney's values. They are: 1. Strong defense 2. Balanced Federal Budget 3. Reduce/eliminate national debt 4. Energy Independence 5. Job creation 6. Support our allies 7. Stand up to Iran and Russia 8. Reduce peoples dependance on government for living 9. Shrink the Federal government 10. Reduce taxes Would love to hear about Obama's values. |

you havnt mentioned that the war in the middle east cost a staggering 1.3 trillion and guys are still dying today over republican values...the war broke this country, not Obama.if we divided that 1.3 trillion amongst us, we wouldnt be talking about the next president. your number 1 point is embedded in those values and its what costs you and me the most.....thats what I dont like about the Republicans, some day you will realize that lives and war is nothing but a large corporation for profit...funny your defense will be that we need to protect our borders, but we have a big open border to the south and the north....doesnt that seem strange to you, the days of ground wars are long gone, if we eliminate your number 1 it will take care of 2 thru 10

So, the Democratic agenda would be to sit idely by when our enemies attack us on our own soil killing thousands of Americans..... and do NOTHING???? Thats good to know.
I think Romney mentioned our enemies will see a lot stiffer spine than they have over the past four years. Thats also VERY good to know. I want a President with a stiff spine, and not one that will "have more flexibility after his next election" (as Obama was caught telling Russia's President during a "hot microphone" moment). He was referring to the fact he will make even more concessions to Russia, and weaken our military even more if he is re-elected. Obama scares me to death with his desire to weaken our country. So, I sure hope Romney has his own, much different agenda than Obama. |

Eric, despite some strong antiwar promises from candidate Obama, President Obama followed bushes path concerning Iraq and GITMO, and accelerated the "Just" war in Afghanistan. So we will have to distinguish him in domestic policy. He has doubled the number of months this country has spent over 8% unemployment, and he will double this total deficit by 2016 (from 10 to 20 trillion). He has moved more people from able to feed themselves to food stamps than any other president.......the list goes on.
You dodged the question. What are Obama's values? |

Obama's anti-war strategy would seem to be to destroy everything America has that is worth fighting for.

Well, I will give it a shot if nobody else will. Maybe somebody can refute these points. 1. Pander to Gays 2. Pander to Hispanics 3. Pander to Women 4. Pander to Unions 5. Pander to our Enemies (pulled missile defense from Poland>>appease Russia) 6. Ignore Deficeit spending (annual deficeit of more than $1 Trillion) 7. Ignore National Debt (will surpass $16 Trillion this week) 8. Continues to push for public tax dollar "investments" to put "school teachers, fireman, and police" back to work (See point #4) Ever notice thats all they ever mention as to who will go back to work?? 9. Disrepect/Ignore religious beliefs (forced Catholics to provide free birth control to employees of Catholic organizations) 10. Used public tax dollars to bailout auto industry (billions and billions of dollars which have not been paid back>>GM stock down sharply) 11. Pushing America on a path to Socialism 12. Pit groups of Americans against each other 13. Create class envy 14. Increase taxes. 15. Support "green energy" companies....most of which have failed, causing billions of tax payer dollars to be flushed down the toilet 16. Hatred of big oil, coal and natural gas as fuel sources 17. Believes big government can take care of us from cradle to grave (remember his ficticious character named Julia, and how the government had programs for her at every stage of her life? Welcome to "Central Planning" comrades! 15. Has a tremendous fake southern baptist minister voice he can invoke to pander to small town/southern audiences. Help me out here guys....have I missed anything? |

You missed that you can tell he is lying because his lips are moving. He makes promises with no intention of keeping them. His words mean nothing.

Forgot to mention that Obama's mentor was Frank Marshall Davis, an early community organizer, and socialist (or communist). "An interesting fellow' that helped shape a young Barry Obama. BO's grandfather felt young Barry needed an African American male influence in his life. Frank, meet Barry. Barry, say hello to Frank!

Problably not, and if we let Obama evolve in a second term we will continue this trend into his third, forth, and fifth terms until there is nothing left but Obama an Obama care. Is that what you really want? Or do you want us to continue to be the America we have been for 200+ years? |

Boat Dr. ....Politics aside, I have an honest and sincere question for you. Why can't those of us who want to participate in this topic in "off topic" forum do so? I don't recall anybody telling you that you shouldn't participate in a given forum or topic. Just curious.
It seems like this topic has been very popular given the number of responses and views. |

Boat Dr.; you and I, were not so different, to coin a phrase. That is exactly how I feel too. I am scared to death of HUGE national debt we are leaving our kids and grandkids. Its not fair to them. Many other issues too, but, that is one of the main ones. As Paul Ryan said last week in Tampa....."plenty of blame to go around on that issue". Both parties got us into this mess. The question is...how do we get out of it??

You're right Eric, it doesn't appear that either side will work with the other. If the Democrats would cut spending, and limit the scope of government, I would be first in line to vote for a "D'. But, that ain't happening. To me, its the "R"s that are talking about getting things under control.
Admittedley, in the past, both parties got us into this mess, but, Romney and Ryan are truly talking about solving these problems now. Forget the past, we are in the mess we are in at the hand of both parties. We need leadership for the future. |

This election cycle is putting friend against friend, neighbor against neighbor, sometimes with some real vile comments. It serves no purpose but does show people are not happy. Dems blame republicans for causing this, repubs blame democrats for not fixing it. Fact is both sides had their turn to say no to each others progress and nothing got done. Now everyone is mad and it it's easier to blame each other than to work it out.
We are not going to persuede either side to jump ship and join the other but this off topic forum at least affords us the right to vent, offer our opinion and share talking points with each side. While nothing will get accomplished we do basically stay civil and no one gets hurt. In November we can each go vote and let the chips fall where they may. No one is going to pack up and leave because their guy didn't win. That being said we are doing ourselves a service airing our political laundry here rather than holding back getting more and more frustrated. For that reason alone we should not styfle this discussion. Like said earlier if politcs is not your bag, skip to the next subject. |

+1 It isn’t the election cycle that pits one against the other.. that is being purposefully done by those that wish to mislead those they can and disenfranchise the rest through disgust. They do this with well-funded propaganda, which plenty seem perfectly willing to subject themselves to for many hours per day. Using this site as another venue to repeat this propaganda as fact and help them along the way is ugly at best. |
