    Posted: October-10-2012 at 10:18pm
I have a 2005 SN 206 with a teak swim platform that I just purchased. I love the boat with the exception that I prefer the composite platform. If any one with with a similar year 196 or 206 who has a composite platform would prefer a teak platform, we may be able to arrange for a trade. My platform is in excellent shape - well looked after and always kept up. I can certainly provide pics. I am located in Seattle. Thanks!

Keith - Welcome it's nice to have some more west siders hanging out here!   I can't help you on the platform, but we'd love to have some pics of your boat... always helps to generate interest in your thread too

Thanks for the welcome. I'll get some pics of the boat soon - I just took delivery of it last night and by the time I got it on the lift at the dock it was dark. The good skiing in our area starts now. The lake clears off and the 5mm wetsuits come out. A month from now it will be dry suits and draining the block after each ski. Such is the price we pay for carving glass.....well worth it.

I would be interested in the platform as a spare, but first need to find a composite to trade.

Keith - what lake are you on?   Lake washington? or Samamish? Kroundy is up in lake stevens, and I ususally choose between Lake tapps and American lake, both are pretty far south if your truly a seattle boater... It was cold this morning... you've got to be a die hard or living on the lake to ski now

I'm on Lake Washington. We have a dock just south of Newcastle Beach Park. Not the greatest ski lake during the summer due to boat traffic, but it starts to get great this time of year. With the boat on the water, we can just go when conditions are right. :)

SN206, I would entertain selling the platform as well. Let me know if you are interested. I'm waiting for pricing on a new one, but the dealer suspects it will be around $1500 (yikes!). He stated the teak platforms are even more.

Living on the water in Seattle with a boat lift and a SN 206, $1,500 is not so bad? I lived there for 5 years. Loved it. I never made the money to get anywhere close to the water.

Welcome to the site!

Wow, I would always go for a wooden platform and throw away the composite. Why would you ever want to do that?

Good luck with the trade!

local dealer has a 216

Do the 216 and the 206 share the same platform design?   Pacific Nautiques might have one you could trade for? or is that the dealer you already consulted?

I checked with Pacific initially. When they call back with pricing, I'll ask. Good thought!

I've had both the teak and composite and just prefer the composite. I have spent too many your with my 1985 2001 keeping the swim platform looking like new. :) As the boat sits on a lift on the water, it makes it a bit harder to work on. If it sat on a trailer, I wouldn't mind as much. Guess it comes down to personal preference.

Hey Hooty222,

Looks like I picked up the swim step. Thanks again for the help. Looks like I might have a teak swim step for sale...

Keith, you have my dream house location! Right on Lake Washington. Wow. Either there or Lake Sammamish, up north there near that slalom course...

With that teak deck would fit on my 1993 Ski!

I need to get the new platform before I sell the old one. Don't want o be swimplatform-less. :)

I don't know on price. The glass one cost me six bills - I'd like to get a good part of that back. But I am open to offers.

KRoundy - I used to ski that course on north Lake Sammamish back in the day behind my 1985 SN 2001. Lake WA is OK - I'd rather be on Sammamish for skiing. It is hard to get a good ski day in the summer, but fall, winter, and spring usually have some really nice days. My house is actually back from the lake, but I have a dock - and a good view of the water up to the East Channel Bridge. Your 93 looks great!

By the way - if anyone is interested, I have the teak platform from my 2005 SN 206 Ski for sale. I am open to offers. It is in good shape and sanded - heady for sealing or teak oil - which ever you prefer. It will fit 196 and 206's from around that time frame. I am not certain which years - maybe someone can help me out here - my guess is 2002 through 2009?

I'm obviously very late here, but, did you ever get rid if that teak platform?

Thanks, Troy
