As far as video editing software goes, I use Pinnacle. I am way back on Studio 12 version. The most current is 16. It is 60 bucks new and well worth it. Sooooooooo easy to use. I am by no means a techie, and you all have seen my videos.
The HD it tough to work with, the files are huge, and unless you have a couple of terrabytes of storage and a supesonic computer, you are going to get blown up. |

some skiing done this past days!
Had the oportunity to ride LL behind a BU Vride...with a 14x14 prop, its a slow pig, it was barely pulling me into the 35-36 as i felt i was plowing, cheecking out of the wake was a challenge also, like jumping from a big curb!....then put the shoes on and that was another story. Some side slide aon one foots...all in all the boat sucks for BF. Did a wakeboard run and it was incredible, landed all my tricks with ease. Some bruises of the struggle during the ll attemps... Sunday was another story, I went out with Julio in my boat. Had a los of wind and high tide so some flotind debris was around in the river, after clearing it we started skiing. SS are almost there but still not gliding it as I would like to, probably I need little more speed. New tricks are flowing, both one foots are now consistent, I´m about to nail both toeholds, tumble up one foot with both feets. Toe hold butt slide standup.... Back one foot... Julio is editing some video of the run. Hope to have it ready to uplaod soon.. |

OK, after a long hiatus on not may video posts, I am here with the "evidence" thanks to Andy riding high atop the Super Fly High with the GoPro. I had been struggling with the back one-foot, especially my revers for years. it was only after re-tooling my basic backward posture (thanks to a couple of session with David Small) that I was able to make progress on the trick. A lot of my problem is I was plowing, too much lean away from the boom, not enough glide. Second, and Andy helped me with this, I was not timing the lifting of my foot with the weight transfer. Now the weight transfer and the foot lift are almost simultaneous.

OK, so one trick I have been dying to do is the back toe-hold. I have been able to do it on shoes for quite some time. I held off on doing it on bare feet since up til recently by back one foots sucked. I might have tried it on the basic, but the reverse would have suffered.
So here it is, the back toe hold. This was my second attempt. My first attempt I fell because my thighs weren't squeezed tight. The second attempt was "the ride of my life" on equal to barefooting for the first time. Guys, this trick is bad ass. you gotta try it! |

Nice back toes and ones. Isn't the water a bit smooth and glassy. Does the smooth glassy perfect water ever end at that site. I am jealous.

Well, the weather here in the Golden State finally matches the calender. The warm season is gone for now. California can surprise you with another spell of warm weather here and there, but each day that passes, it becomes more unlikely. By this time next month the water will be in the high 40's and if there is any footing to be done it will be on a day of at least 60 degrees which can be common between storms.
It was a great season. Skied with David Small: Skied my new ('97) Sanger like mad. Skied like crazy with Willie, Andy and Mark. My kids got bit by the barefoot bug. Knocked down a few new tricks like back one-foots, back toe holds, and established a consistent back-deep start behind the boat. So what is next? Ski the winter, stay tuned up. I would like to get clean back wake crosses going. Back one foots behind the boat. Knock down a reverse back toe-hold. Lots to do. Have fun this winter, guys. It was a good season. |

Well as you can see above we have found some a pretty pristine area to ski. Winds cab be blowing 20-25 mph and we can still have butter.
Tom, Chris, Kyle and I have made some serious improvements as well. We should be able to ski wet for a few more weeks, but then drysuits. I think we will have a 3 1/2 - 4 month layover with a BFN restore and maybe a clinic before getting back in the water down here. |

We had a high of 74 here today. Water was 50 and few guys went without dry suits. Not me. Skiing was great and tomorrow we are supposed to have a high of 31. Yikes.

Here is some video of a little fun on te water on the "last" warm sunny day of the season. I might have mentioned earlier that I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hip. This made it almost impossible to do a front toe-hold. I took about 6 weeks of physical therapy and got my toe-hold back!

Excellent skiing Roy! You look comfortable out there.
This season has been an outstanding season for most barefooters improving their skiing. Maybe the sport is making a comeback. We are skiing tomorrow afternoon.....our skiing days are numbered here in TX for the 2012 season. |

Thanks.......Tom

no vids andy! sorry! went again this sunday, this time with julio. I improved my bacerds one foots, also tried the back to front again, i´m perfecting the face plant. also did some jumps, and got hit really hard.
Julio was able to do the back deeps barefoot, he was only doing them with shoes, and i got him to do them without them. he was very excited! my side slide still dirty. |

Seb,
Keep some bend in the ski leg on the back toehold and "push" your toehold foot down towards the water. Head up, look out the back for the horizon to keep balance. Looks like you are busting loose this summer |
