The reason for helathcare costs rising with the exsiting one, is there is no competion in the market. When doctors compete against one another, prices go down tremoundlsy.
BTW, this stat come out yesterday that 3 million registred republicans choose not to vote. WTFREEK!! |

I am not getting into the politics here, but to answer the question on health insurance, we just got our renewal yesterday for our company taking effect first of Feb. My family plan went up around $500 a month and has less benefits than I had before. Of course we are like Quinner and pay 100% of employess insurance. I guess we will have to look into that! |

Same here Greg. We pay 100% also and I was on the phone today with the broker preparing for the renewal numbers. I expect our premium to go up and our benefits to go down. Too bad us small business guys just like to stick it to our employees. I'm not trying to jump into this conversation either, but there sure are some strange thoughts that float around on this thread. |

since when should A hospital have to advertise on TV? this week I scratched my cornea (very painful) and had to make a brief visit to the ER, I went to saint vincents, got there around 7 am, I was there until roughly 9am, I was the only patient there and the doctor and I had some good conversation since he wasn't busy at all...well he went on to saying that they will be shutting down soon to lack of business because everyone goes to the Cleveland clinic (which advertises immensely here) well what I think is happening is a monopoly, in monopoly you name your price, it surely isn't competition. competition would lower prices. but back to the beginning of my post here, why is there a need to advertise for hospital services....simple, to control the market you are in. every doctor in town signed on with CC, I think in the past that I have posted about my mother's situation of being on TPM, she needed to be fed interveniosly in the past 15 years of her life, twice a week and the bags were around 1500 apiece, they wee shipped to her FedEx cold and she would keep them in a fridge, anyways on her passing I threw 7 bags away, while in intensive care they would not let me bring the feeding bags down, they used theirs (I see the liabilities of it) but in your mind calculate 2 bags a week by 15 years, wtf is in these bags that could possibly cost 1500 bucks a crack

Lee....I know what you are saying. It's not necessarily just the doctors competing, but, rather introducing free market competition into the healthcare industry in general. Competition ALWAYS brings prices down, and increases quality. Think American auto industry in the 60's and 70's, and the Japanese cars coming into our market. It caused Detroit to improve quality to meet the competition. Also, another great example is Lasik eye surgery. That is normally something that is more private payer driven, and they have done a great job of increasing quality, and driving pricing down because they have to compete with each other. But, Obama will just "mandate" what the industry shall do, and I think costs will rise dramatically, and quality will go down. But, big government knows best. Another great example is the US Postal Service. $15 BILLION loss this year. US Postal Service Loss of $15 BILLION in 2012 |

Oobama is saying his stance to raise taxes on the rich to balance the budget got a mandate because of the election results. Is a 1.5% lead in the popular vote really a mandate for one side? Or a mandate to compromise?

yes raise those taxes on the rich they can afford it . then they can slow the economy down even more when they use the money for taxes that they could have used to grow business to keep the middle class working .. but yes raise those taxes so the poor can have for free what the middle class works for ..

Its funny how the liberals can't wait to raise money on the "wealthy". I called on a customer in the Chicago area this week. Real nice guy, but, a HUGE lib. We had a great discussion on the election. So, I ask him if he wanted to pay more taxes. "OF COURSE NOT"!!! "That's why I have an accountant to help me pay the least possible".
Here is a screaming lib, 1% business owner, and HE doesn't want to pay more taxes. I told him it must be his inner conservative screaming to get out Sounded a bit hypocritical to me! |

I think he wants to do the same ol crap. Raise taxes so he can ask to raise the debt ceiling. SPEND MORE TAX PAYERS MONEY! They just dont get it do they. You raise taxes on the wealthy, the job growth stinks. They are the job creators. And also raising taxes does not create more revunue. Never has and never will. This is another example that just "P" me off on these regulations. A company, cant think of the name, has been trying to pass there engine for big trucks. it failed because of all the federal regulations involved. They then tried too redoe the engine to the new specs of federal regulation and still failed. They just layed off 300 people and said more to follow. They just dont get it. And on another note, I feel sorry for the coal miners also. They are having big layoffs too because Obama the magnificent, hates coal and are natural energy resources. Cant beleive he invensted in 90 billion dollars worth towards green energy and they all went "Bankrupt"! |

I am surprised you righties have not fled to Canada yet.
You guys need directions or what? Just head north, you'll get there. Mapquest will give you exact directions if you need them. By the way, Romney says there are all kinds of jobs in China, but I am unsure how to mapquest that for you. |

Now that is a plan I can understand. Is there reunions in those two states? Anyone ever look into the revenue weed generates? I find it amazing really, and I bet others would as well, if looked at objectively, with all the facts and related figures. |

That is how the economy is supposed to work, Lee. If you can't compete, you fail. Here is where the jobs from the company you can't remember the name of probably went, to a company that builds great products and can compete in a global market. Cummins. Cummins has seen substantial growth in recent years and has a nearly 80 percent jump in profits for 2011. Cummins has a record worldwide workforce of 46,200 people, including some 7,800 in Indiana. Cummins is expanding it's Columbus offices and has a $219 million project to expand its Seymour factory for production of a new high-speed diesel engine. Cummins currently has a hiring freeze on, but expects to hire many workers in Columbus and Seymour between now and 2015. Cummins stock closed at $24 on the day Obama took office, it closed at $97.10 Friday. It wasn't Caterpillar either, $30 when Obama took office, closed at $84.95 Friday. Not bad if I do say so myself. (Disclaimer, I have positions in Cummins Inc. and Caterpillar Inc.) D/A, Dig Boy! |

I'm glad it's the cold keeping you from Canada, and not the "socialized" health care. Oh, well, head south then, Mexico isn't that far. It sure is terrible here apparently. |
