Yes, I have a couple of them. Does yours have a plate welded to it at the floor level, or not? Send me the measurement from the floor level to the top of the aluminum pole itself and the overall lenth of the aluminum pole. It has a slight bend in it, right? And a 1" diameter steel pin sticking out of the bottom?

PM might be better; I don't read posts very often.

I've got one also in the FS section, came out of a '83 Nautique. Does not have the plate welded to it.

OK, so your boat doesn't have a pylon in it at all? Does it have the hole in the floor and the anchor for the pylon glassed to the hull right under the hole in the floor? Trying to make sure I have one to fit properly.

A '78 SN would pre-date the cradle (1980+) so it should definitely have the flange at the floor.

My understanding is that he is adding a cross-brace to hold the pylon in the same manner as the second generation engine beds held it. U bolts.
