is it just me (and Bill) or has anyone else noticed we are running slower here? I know me & Bill are not the most computer savvy guys on here but it sure seems slower to me...

The site is almost unusable for me. None of the other forums I read are this slow. If anybody has a cure please tell me . This is one of my favorite forums but at times I just give up and move on because it locks up.

Well put, +1. Typically at least a 15 second delay to open any post, often muuuuch longer than that. Have given up on checking out diaries and for sales altogether.

I'm guessing Keith is already aware of the situation.

Did Alan make reference to Hackers or something with email notifications in the t-shirt thread?

Yes he has been working on the email situation for quite some time and from what I'm told that was due to hackers. Not sure if this slowdown is the same cause though.

Although the 131 subnet at Aply does seem a little congested, other sites on the same subnet running the same win2003/IIS/mssql arch have almost immediate db search results, it appears to me that ccfan sql may not be indexed or needs some indexing attention.

painfully slow. it seems like CCFan has more host problems than any other forum i visit, it's not available on tapatalk (iphone). i'm absolutely not taking anything away from keith or anyone else administering, i'm sure it a ton of work with little reward.

i'd be more than willing to contribute by paying a subscription fee to bring this website out of the dark ages. on most of the other sites i visit, there are benefits for paying members.

It's so slow that it gives me a chance to run for a cold one and then drink it. The only problem is the condition I'm in just getting to the end of the general discussion section! Actually, it's been so bad the last couple of weeks that I've been opening up a couple of tabs on CCfan. While one is loading/opening, I can go to another thread. It has become unusable.

Seems a little better tonight...not like it used to be, but better. I hesitated to raise the issue the last week or two as I'm not one to complain and had some doubts when noone else brought it up. Had to private message my brother for another opinion. Obviously there were a great number of us out here "suffering in silence".

It was running fine this morning from about 2:30 to about 3:30. Then the site went off the net. It came back up a couple minutes ago but now it's terribly slow again. Hacked again??

I have a feeling and maybe Keith will confirm that the slowdown has something to do with the sites anti spam. Since the speed went back to "normal", there has been plenty of spam postings.

Jeff, That would be 220....221, whatever it takes.

Fetzer valve is from the airplane scene in Fletch. You get an age related pass. I believe Fletch was rated R and you were only 13 in 1985.
