Adam good efforts you kept putting it out there... That cold water was probably not helping either just another thing putting negative thoughts in your head.

You are a further down the road than I was 2 seasons ago. Never got to the 5' line. I found after around 4 failed attempts it was more mental than physical. Failure breeds doubt, I did not have a another attempt last season as the water conditions were never right.

That was my excuse anyway I think I need to man up somewhat this season myself.
If you're going through hell, keep going

its startling how easy it is (at least for me) to talk myself out of it.

I see what you guys are saying about the loose feet and tightening through the core, the one thing that I catch myself doing that I know I won't be able to get away with on the long line is I have a tendency to get sloppy in a recovery. any time i get sideways or start to bounce my legs straighten and I lean back away from the boat. i feel like I do a good job of getting myself back into a good position before I attempt to plant, but for those couple split seconds its just mayhem.

that and the faces I make are pretty funny too

Adam
Good effort this will come and you will question why or what took so much effort and pain. if you get back to the Charlotte area and want to don my dry suit I to will be glad to offer advice and what ever help I can. Quite certain that we could convince my buddy Carl Rubidge to assist and inspire as we'll.

Again I will offer up the dry suit but you can't drive the new boat yet LOL.

Internet is terrible here in Canada this evening so I have not been able to watch all of your videos but if you are bored do a YouTube search for Mike leaving big daddy and you will see a Buddy of mine that I taught off an old surfer.

Man, you guys are good at coaching. Your abilities to pick up on slight incorrect position is impressive. My advice is typically limited to:

let your arms out
bend your knees

I was always told that when you think you're good at something, teach someone else to do it and your ability to do so effectively is a better measure of what you know about the given subject.

You guys are good and that's what makes this thread a favorite. Really, I think it's the next best thing to ski school or a local clinic. Definitely priced better.

In Adam's defense, I don't think he broke my boat. The excessive moisture in the cap is a mystery, but upon closer inspection after the boys left, I found 2 cracks and carbon trails in my cap. Those Mallory flat caps are susceptible to that but I usually get a year or two out of them. This one only lasted about 2 months, which is strange. Advance Auto concurred with my diagnosis and gave me a new one under warrantee, so I am back to running like a "scalded cat" and for free....my favorite kind of fix. Tho I was disappointed that a malfunctioning boat may have impacted Adam's progress.

Hollywood was correct. Adam is definitely better than the videos convey. He's got all the parts, just needs to get his head straight, maybe not overthink it. He'll definitely be there in the spring.

Thanks Larry. The one thing I can say is I usually know what I did wrong. There's not a lot of times the boat comes back that I have to ask. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, haha.

Nice repair Larry. Now there is no need to send Adam the bill. Next time my 75SN goes down, I will let you help diagnose the problem to get those kind of results.

You know what, I don't hate that idea. And my sis probably wouldn't mind seeing me. I'm gonna have to think about this, it could work.

Don't you usually get a chicago-land visitor sometime over the winter? Maybe I can synch up with him and turn that into a real party.

Nice work Adam.
Don't think for a minute that you're a boat curse remember you and your buddies had my boat all day(Tennessee I believe it was) and it still runs like a champ.
I think these guys are trying to blame their pour maintenance practices on you.

That's true, but if you think back, the only reason we were on your boat is because my dad's wasn't running, and mine didn't even make the trip because it was already broke.

We do! Usually keep his gear here and he visits twice......so you should be able to 'time it up'....sounds like a plan.

A buddy of mine had a white barefoot suit with neon pink and blue stripes. He thought he was pretty cool back in the eighties.   After about an hour in the water the white turned an ugly shade of green. The padding was about as thin as paper too!
