Don't know if it works for anyone else or not but the one down towards the bottom with Dave in a barefoot suit should be a video if you click on it.

I am new to the forum. Actually this my first post. I have had several Correct Crafts over the years. At the moment I have a 1988 Dominique with the 454. This is a very nice totally original boat. Original interior, only 297 hours. It is cream and burgundy. I am seeking opinions on the graphics.
The Dominique graphics are not bad but one of them is a little scratched up. I have a set of 1988 2001 barefoot graphics I am thinking about using. Any thoughts on changing the graphics? Would it be a bad idea to have the barefoot graphics on the Dominique? I know they are essentially the same boat. Just wondered what the general consensus is. I am going to be selling the boat in a few months. I am in NC as well around Lake Norman. Look forward to getting some opinions. |

Quick-reaction-Pete in action...
All kidding aside though, Pete's right, since you are planning on selling the boat. I customized mine a bit, but I have no plans whatsoever on selling her (and I had my share of bashing from Pete )... |

On the Dominique, do you have the forward facing passenger seat or the rear facing observer bench?
If you have the forward facing seat, I'd tend to leave it as a Dominique. The 454 is a rare and cool option for that boat. |

This one has the swivel bucket passenger seat and the drink holder on the engine box, and luxury seat in rear with the wrap around pads.
Hull stamp ends in "DOM" as Dominique designation. |

I would say so. The PO did not use the boat in the last 2 years and put about 70 hours on it in the 10 years prior. He bought the boat new and seemed to have good memories with his skiing buddies. |

I was the one that originally found this on Craigslist, and posted the find on CCF in the "Interesting CLs Finds".
I am happy for Dave, but at the same time bummed that I did not buy it. I would have so many boats if I could!!! Beautiful boat!!!!!!!!! That is a VERY NICE BFN! And trailer too! |

Dave, I'm surprised you didn't faceplant when you heard Rod Stewart "If you want my body" playing on the stereo. That's just brutal.
Seriously beautiful boat, congrats and enjoy it! |

Now if Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" is not perfect video background tuneage for this sexy vintage boat (however exactly 10 yrs too early) then I don't know what us. Plus, cut me some slack as it was only one of a few old cassette, yes, cassette tapes that I managed to find in the garage in order to test out that fine 25 yr old Clarion tape deck, which does crank fairly well by the way. We also jammed to the 'Stones "Some Girls", another classic recording from my college days.
I can't add anything more to the boat's hype, as nothing does it justice compared to an in-person look and ride. I think I was just as excited as Dave for him to see it. I was sending him new pics every week or so whenever I caught it in yet another view in perfect light or angle, and as the reality continued to set in acknowledging just how gorgeous it really is. Congrats Dave!! |

You Rod haters can KMA. I know I read somewhere where he did some barefootin on a DiscoTique. I just can't find one of those listed in any of the brochures. And don't believe any of those stomach pump rumors going around in the early 80s.

So Reid, if the test ride is in a mid 70's Tique, you'd be blasting the Bee Gees "How Deep is your Love", and in a '63 it would be Frankie Valli's Sherry?
Just kidding, I get it. I have boxes of casettes, most of them were recorded from albums when I was in college and a few years after. Not a bit of music that dates newer than maybe 1988 or so. Give some thought to making "You Rod haters can KMA" your new signature. |

You really don't think I make the 14 hour drive up to the "Benjamin Bayou" weekend just to hang out with a bunch of CC owners and Skier guys do you? Heck, half the fun up there is listening to DJ Reid and his collection of Oldies the whole way up.
Oh, hey Dave....Congrats on the new boat. Reid sent me a picture of your new ride just after he picked it up. Thought he went a little overboard by wearing a blue shirt to match the boat but hey...guy's and their boats are like that. |

That's like a Where's Waldo picture, it took me 10 minutes to find Reid with the blue shirt and tan shorts matching the hull colors.

Here are two hole shot videos. One with the Dymex 14x14 or 14x15 prop that was on the boat, and the Acme 430. The Dymex ran 46ish mph per the Airguides at 4200rpm, and the Acme ran 48.1mph per the GPS (Airguides agreed) at 4800rpm.
Dymex: Acme: Has anyone shortline slalomed behind a BFN? It looks like the wake might be tolerable in front of the table? |

Thanks Tim. That is not a bad look. Only way it could be any better is if Reid's mustang was towing it. |

Nicer launch and those extra 600 rpm sound better with the Acme.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to ski behind it, but when I was looking at a Dominique a few years ago people chimed in on the ski wake. If I had to narrow down all the comments I'd say better skiers agreed the wake was tough to get through, just too steep and sharp, but recreational skiers (like me) said they could ski OK on a BFN/Dominique. The boat owner said he slalomed almost weekly behind it and never had a problem. I guess it made me wonder why someone who slalomed that much wouldn't switch to a better ski boat. Short line is out of my league but curious to hear the comments from others! |

Ha, put those Dymex props on the mantle! I bet its hard to capture on video how much better that Acme felt.
Havent tried slaloming behind the BFN, but cant say Ive wanted to try either. Not sure getting in front of the wake will be a whole lot better- the v-hull leaves a pretty big hole behind it. Plenty of fun to mess around with a cruiser wide body or hot dog ski behind it though! |

I don't think Dave could have gotten a nicer BFN if he went back in time and ordered a new boat from the factory. I can't wait to see it. He was on the hunt for at least 4 years and was very patient before he finally pulled the trigger. Thanks to everyone that helped him out!
This picture says it all. I don't see myself learning to foot, but I will enjoy riding this behind it on those choppy weekend afternoons. |
