John,
The last two years I fried turkeys, one of the other attendees brought one along to use. I forget who right off the top of my head but it was a different person each year. Sure did work out great though.
You're right about the dogs. Last year, we got a little later start getting the birds cooking than I would've liked. But remember, Jackie had some ignition problems with his boat and we ran escort to make sure he got back OK.

I know I could do it with a single cooker but that would also mean I'd have to start 'em up at least two hours before we wanted to eat. Depending on what activities we get into on saturday, that would kinda suck but certainly doable.

Adam,
That would be cool and we'll kinda keep that idea on the back burner if we need it. I know it would suck to have to bring a cooker with you all the way from Ohio too.

When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

I gotta tell you, good food is good, but I don't come to these things to eat...I'd rather have hot dogs after a full day on the water than have somebody cut their fun short to prep food for hours. If there's a wife whos going in early cause she needs to get a baby out of the sun or something that's fine, but I'm not in favor of missing fun for food, no matter how good Eddie's turkeys were last year.

Drink Beer, there's a meal in every can!!

Adam, clearly you have never been married or had kids based on those comments, lol, the woman would string you up and feed you to the gators!

Eddie whatever works man, fried enough turkeys myself to appreciate how much work they are, would be there to help with all that, flipping burgers and dogs or help call Domino's, whatever works is all good!!

I am not opposed to a Friday road trip to Mt. Dora. Although I have not decided to "Show" my boat, I will be without a tow on Friday either way. If you are "ride-less" for that Friday, I will be flying solo for the day. Bottom line, I could use a co-pilot/crew for the day. so, my plans are flexable. Hopefully my "ignition" problems will not interfere with the turkeys this year.

Eddie, I wanna say it was BJ who brought the extra cooker. If memory serves.... you, Rob, Kimi and I were sampling turkey constantly to be sure we would serve...No bird before it's time.

CQ, I don't think there is even a Domino's in town so you better be ready to flip a burger or two.

Adam, aren't you usually on a liquid diet anyway?

When you say you are without a tow you mean your boat will be in Astor, but your truck will not, right? So you need a hitch if your boat is going to make it to Lake Dora?

I'm confident the ignition issues are in the past, and I'll have my boat so I won't be in yours very much to break it, you should be fine!

Spanky's serves pizza late, we ate that a couple times last year, but no delivery. CQ can be our DD...designated deliverer.

Damn, you're right Tim. BJ did supply a cooker two years ago when he brought that gorgeous BFN to show off. Last year was definitely somebody else though. That age thing keeps getting in the way for remembering stuff.

Jackie,
Didn't mean any disrespect about the ignition issues. We all know s**t happens anytime you have a boat involved. Was more than happy to help out any way possible. Sure wouldn't have left you stranded for a turkey...LOL.

I'm sure the "Mofoots" (that you guys were giving me junk about till you had one) that Kimi and I were serving up on the way back had nothing to do with this memory loss you speak of.

I don't know...I can't remember

That does however, explain the reason that all of you were standing around the turkey eating it as fast as it was getting carved. You guys were like lions at a fresh kill for God's sake.

Jerry,
I appreciate the Smith girls dropping the French Fry Eddie moniker. Just something wrong with that but I've certainly been called a lot worse! I also appreciate the offer and I'll definitely let you know. Last year I found a heck of deal on them and snapped 'em up. As we get closer, I'll keep you posted. Wouldn't want to disappoint the Smith girls after all

Yes Adam. You are right about the truck and the boat location being an hour+ apart. I hope we have enough people around Thursday to test the waters with water sports. I have a new pair of barefoot shorts and gently previous used barefoot suit that are spending a lonely winter in my boat.
I would like to warn some of you "young pups' that that alcohol induced memory lapse will continue even if the consumption rate reduces. I am walking proof that the older I get, the better skier I was. Maybe I can blame that lapse on mass quantity consumption,

Hollywood and Eddie your barefoot pull might need to wait for next time. I fully intended to start getting the hurricane ready for mt Dora tomorrow morning but in a split second this morning my thumb got slammed in the door of the car and I loped of about 1/2" of it. Had surgery this afternoon to trim the bone off and close it up but I won't be working on any boats for a little while.     Not a pretty site but the surgeon did a good job.
Here's the "after" picture, the before is not appropriate to post

Very sad to hear and worse to see Alan. I wish you a speedy recovery.
In all my years as a paramedic I only saw crush injuries from vehicle doors, never an amputation. You must have one sharp car. Did you bring in the tip with you? Why no re-attachment?
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Re attachment wasn't an option , they said it very rarely works in an adult. Quickest solution is just make it a stubby. It was of a de gloving type of amputation, you probably know the term and what that looks like. It will heal up guys, thanks for your concern. I couldn't believe how quickly it happened , split second and it was all over.

That thing has to throbbing tonight. I hope they gave you some good pain killers. If it is not to soon for de-gloving stories, I knew a fire fighter who lost his ring finger in a similar manor. After years of wondering about the short finger I got up the gumption one day to ask what happened. He said his wedding ring became hooked on a basket ball rim will dunking a ball (he was maybe 5'6" tall!). Turns out he had put a picnic table near the net to launch from. Because of a poor mind the whole body suffers.
