yep, no need to keep beatin on me. She'll get some new skins before we hit the road.

Thanks for the kind words guys, the hand is more of a nuisance than anything right now all bandaged up. It does get to throbbing by the end of the day though. I'll see the doc next friday and then start therapy the same day. They fast track the recovery these days and I'm very fortunate to live in an area with a fantastic network of healthcare specialists. 2 hours after I sniped it off I was at a hand specialist and a few hours after that in surgury, I was actually back at the office working by 4pm that day. Really amazing people that put us back together when we mess up.

You can say that again Alan. Not being much of a wood worker it always makes me nervous around table saws, circular saws etc. Looking back on the Hurricane project I don't even remember you saying you even got a splinter And then to have this happen on an everyday thing makes you again realize how fragile life can be. Hope everything goes well, have a safe trip down,we will see you there.

Alan glad to see your recovery is progressing well.

Is there something I should keep a eye on if the new Jeep GC tries to get a piece of me........

Would love to get to SJRR this year and a ride in the Hurricane.

I did have the pleasure of driving Billy's Starflite at GL thanks again Billy it was a blast

Actually Ross is pretty close. It is 34.6 miles each way, and will probably take about an hour to get there from Parramore's.

Waz up,
Last year's weather sucked, it will be 90 and sunny this year. So all you whiter than white fellows should be able to pick up some discounted sunscreen up there. Got in a little late and seems like we have more going on this year. Trying to get the FSU canoe together. Not sure on our headcount yet. Me and the kids for 3 days wife on one maybe 2.

If you wanted to get real adventurous you could put in at 42 and take a cruise through the Ocklawaha and then through the chain .

Glad to see all the buzz going on here, there will be a lot going on the whole weekend, both at Tavares and at Parramores...Those sitting on the fence , please try to make this the "gotta go to this one " year.
Mike , Karen and I launch at the public ramp at the mouth of The Dora Canal and motor thru to the lake. Nice easy ride and it gives you a graet veiw of the classic boats coming and going on the chain.
You have the option if you want to self launch if your in "water display" I do not leave my wooden boat in the water over night, there will be secure parking at Wooten Park for us that want to leave our boats there, mine will stay in Tavares each nite.
Again , thanks to all in advance for your support in making this a once in a lifetime event for Mr. Ralph and the Maloon family .. Billy

Does anyone know where anyone is eating or what time friday or saturday?? Havent seen that anywhere..

as a side note if your launching on the harris chain @ hickory point recreation area near little lake harris & us19 bridge, while it is a nice area and looks like big ramp it has a giant drop off that I can attest to.

I also fell into ocklawaha river that is spring fed in the winter and it was not warm and I would not recommend taking that route as it is tight navigation. however the fishing is great.

This is nicest history an points of interest info map I have seen in awhile and it looks fairly current.

What time do things get started on Friday on Lake Dora? I've now got the day off and could be up in the area around noon. Not sure I will bringing the boat that day, I might just check out the boat show and hang for a bit. Definitely going to Parramore's on Saturday. depending on how that goes, I may be back on Sunday was well.

Can't wait.

Okay Fence riders and especially the post 75 CC owners. Many of the normal River Run Regulars will have boats in the show so they will be boatless for Fri and Sat. For rafting and playing on the river/lake on these days it's looking like we'll have more people than there is room. WE DO NOT WANNA LEAVE ANYONE ON SHORE just because their boat is in the show. Need to see more members and regular attendees step up if your coming.....

JP...some of us will be down at Tavarres early Fri so plan on coming early and ya better bring the boat. See the other thread for more info

Got a Drs appointment at 9. Should be done by ten. Then a quick trip to the gym. Looks like it's about a 30-40 min drive to Tavares from my side of town. I could be there by noon if I hauled a$$.

If all goes well, I will be heading out Early Friday with the boat. Not sure how many kids will be with me? I have to discuss. I am sure not all. Spring break that week. I will put in at Mt. Dora ramp and arrive by water. (JPASS, I recommend this for you!)I will also be available Thursday afternoon/eve, to assist any way I can.
I live only 20 minutes away.
Up in the air for Saturday? I might convince the crew to play in the Lakes instead of the river?

So by my count, 11 non show boats-
Hectus
A Deen
J Smith
Morfoot
JPass
Farmer
Wallace
J Deen
Eddie
Reid (unless the shrimptique gets included in the show)
J Lynch

And 13+ that qualify for or already are in the show
Gary S
Alan
Boat Dr
Roger (Boat Dr #2)
lakemitchellscott
ReidP (5+)
Rodney
Jack Winn
Godfather

And 40+ adults (it was hard for me to quantify when people said family or kids)

I agree with Tim-

JMurph, Nautique John, and Kurtis were all planning to attend as of a couple weekends ago, Staying at parramores, likely part of the Reidp boat moving team, don't know that Reid would be looking to bring a shrimper down any spare hitches would likely mean additional CC show boats. I am pretty sure we can get Reid to show a few of his boats in the water as he is an ACBS member and some will need to be retrieved Saturday eve to start heading back on Sunday, so for friday on water activities that will be another couple options. If the hurricane isnt quite ready for pulling double back deeps I know for a fact reids 71 skier can pull multiple deeps for as long as you can keep gas in it.

If we spend saturday on the river that is the only day that would likely get to be a little tight on boats but not too bad, nothing that should discourage anyone from coming out... better to have a skier and spotter for each boat than our usual average of 1-2 people per boat.
