Is anyone running one. Trying to figure out which way to go. Where does the fuel overflow hose go?
Not sure which one. Standard throat but worried about clearance after new intake Mike |

Looks nice, very expensive, but most importantly, too tall. You won't find one under 3.5"... If you do, you're looking at "element height" not overall height. Definitely won't clear a 2001 box unless you've got a stock intake. A performer barely fits with a short arrestor. Pass!

If you can get yours apart, cutting it down is a good option. 2" is the lowest you can go without getting hung up on the j-tubes. Otherwise there are a few options out there, but it's tough to find one with all the fittings you need.

Do I have to have the breather tube for oil fill? I know I need the fuel pump over flow. Actually my first river run fuel pump went bad. So I know that is a must. Two inches that sounds good, no money and some straight aviator snips(yellow).

The Steath intake I used is 2in taller than stock. I cut down an arrester and built a 15in one using a Moroso low profile air cleaner. There's pictures posted here from about 3 years ago - I've looked for an hour for them. I bet TRBenj could find & post them in 30 sec. (hint, hint) |

I was considering buying this arrestor. I was getting some dirt in my carb with that stock arrestor and thought this style would catch more dirt. I have a Fishnautique so height is no issue.

getting dirt in your carb, you offroading that boat? I have heard somewhere don't know if it was here or the Shamrock site that some of the K&N's do not have the Coast Guard approval stamped on them,my guess is thay use a sticker and it falls off because they are CG approved. My point is you living in Stewart have to be careful, the CG does check. Not marked,it's your word vs their's.

K&N sure spends a lot on advertising! Real world tests prove there are better filters out there for the money. They may work ok on carb'd engines but on newer FI engines they flow oil into the MAF and start causing sensor issues.
