Thank you! |

Where are you in NC. I think I have two in my boathouse that have not been used in a few years. None of my boats need them right now. I'm over on Gaston, but frequent Mooresville also.
Edit: These would require the additional clamp as shown to use with a ring and finger. |

Ok. You guys are great. Now I'm expanding my search to include any pylon and hopefully a deal on a tachyon. This is a budget hobby. I have 4 teens gobbling up the groceries, and this is the only thing I've ever found, that the whole family enjoys together. I'm a fisherman, never owned a ski boat, bought a beat up, non-running, ski nautique brought it back to life. We enjoyed every single weekend last summer, as a family, without ipads, cellphones, and xboxes. We don't have the money to do this all new, but so far it's been worth the cost. We still have a floor, stringer, gelcoat, and upholstery project coming, so I'm pinching pennies so tight, they look like a train ran em over. Again, thank you!

I looked at the tachyon, as I like to run the skylon and boom at the same time. I found a used modern pylon on ebay, Straight, no bend. It required some fabrication to work with the pylon cup in the hull, but is a very clean, very solid setup.

Extended pylons are not that heavy, they get shipped around all the time. $50 would be on the very high side. Much lighter and smaller (if its a 2 piece) than a boom.

+1. Extremely stout unit. I would bet that it's not the weakest link in any extended pylon setup you can find on the market. |

Your concerns will fly right out the window when you see the thing in person. It's BEEFY. Very nice piece, the only way to put an extended pylon on a ring/finger set up, IMHO. I own 2 and have dragged some serious weight with them. |

backfoot: I was a little concerned about the Tachyon only having one clamp. Seems 2 would better distribute the load.
bhectus: any idea on the weight? I found one, 500 miles away, but wondered about shipping. scootdog: Yeah, see above. I'm wondering about the weight for shipping. |

try Craigslist...not sure what's available, but if you monitor it, a local pickup will save you money...shipping will get expensive.

I had a Flite Pipe on my old '83. Too bad they don't make them any longer, it was a really nice setup.

Good luck on finding a Flite Pipe. They do come up occasionally but they're few and far in between. You can wait a long time.
A better alternative is tachyonmotorsports.com Several here have them and they'll do exactly what you're looking for. They're a little pricey but they're well made and strong. Then you can use any extended pylon you want. |

Hello all! I'm looking for a clamp on extended pylon like the flite pipe. Maybe someone has one laying around from a tower upgrade? Best way to reach me is by email at dmdauto on yahoo. Thanks!
