From the humble start our little event has grown to include world class members,Lewy, Roger and yourself .If any of you think the drive is too far , Ask Roger and Ady how far London is???


I want to take a minute to thank all that have worked so hard to put this event on.I will not try to name them,as I am sure to miss someone, but they will be wearing the long sleeve "STAFF", please thank them at the show.

SJRR 2014 will be a tad different this year, larger and more boats, and a bit of a drive for most of attendees.We have a once in a lifetime chance to show the boating world who we are.

Good call Jackie, side of then road bearing replacement is no fun.

Now for a good bearing story. The trailer under the Hurricane came from trbenj but before that came from Joel(m3fan) and he installed the bearings that are in it now. That was along time ago, possibly 8 years. Since I still can't do any work with my hand injury I had my mechanic put some fresh tires on the rig and pull the bearings for a check, he said they were perfect so they just got a clean and repack and new seals, good job Joel! We did discover the wheel cylinders were blowing brake fluid everywhere so we're throwing a fresh set of brakes on it while it's apart. She'll be good to drag anywhere we want this summer and we do intend to put some miles on it.

As an ACBS member for over 30 years, I can say we all don't find a need for the ethanol free gas. Storage over winter yes but if you're going to burn it within a couple months, the ethanol is not a problem. Are you worried about it??

Ha, it's probably all of 9 years now Alan- I bought the boat in Nov 2005. Those bearings always ran ice cold for me, bravo Joel!

Not sure if you saw my other note about the tires. If you don't want the old ones, I'll buy them back- seriously!

Jackie, make sure you air up your tires too- they always look dangerously low on air to me! Fill em right up to the max pressure (should be 50psi).

Tim, I took your advice at White Lake last year and I continue to run the required pressure plus 5. So far, so good. Thanks

Just an FYI, for anyone passing thru SC/GA particularly around Savannah, there is a big gas/convenience store chain called Parkers throughout the area that are really nice/new, and they all have non-ethanol pumps, or at least all the ones I've been to.

Yeah I'd say something's wrong with my truck and it starts with the word Chevrolet. You've never met a bigger, more die hard GM fan than myself and my family but after this truck I WILL NEVER buy another GM product ever. Same with Ford and Chrysler. I just wish I could get 1/4 the service out of my Chevrolet as I have with our 2 Hondas. Call me a traitor but if its not Honda or Toyota, I won't buy it. At the end of the day I want my vehicle in my driveway, not the dealership and I want my money in my wallet. At 138k miles I should not have the problems I do with the mpg I do and I should not have to question the ability of my truck to make my monthly trip to Virginia.

Sorry to hear that about your truck, I only wanted to share that information so you didn't damage it. 15% less mileage is about what you would expect from E85. It should run fine on pretty much whatever octane you use except E85. Sometimes a problem like that is as simple as an O2 sensor. I am sorry to open a can of worms, I was trying to be helpful.

Come on john. We love our cans of worms here. I have no idea how to convert octane to energy. I pay at least a 20% premium (no pun intended ) for non ethanol premium to run in the boat. I cant see a payback to put it in my tow vehicle. I would be curious to know what energy percentage increase I get for the boat with 4 more octane and the 4% for non ethanol. The knowledge might make me feel slightly better at the pump.

I agree plus the world needs that farming land to produce food for an exponentially booming population. And it really drove my feed bill through the roof.
