I guess this is a good time to post, I'm working on sending a barefoot boom to Marty Mabe. It got to Boat Dr yesterday and with Rogers help it will get loaded and on its way to Florida. I believe the plan is for Steve K. To head home with it and if he can't get it to Marty on that trip he will bring it back for White Lake.
This is just an FYI incase anyone sees it sitting around, wish I could have delivered it in person, just wasn't in the cards this year, too many other things going on. |

Okay River Rats, just a few days away from the unofficial kickoff to the many gatherings of CCFans across the globe of the 2014 Boat/ski season for us North American fanatics. We have the largest group of River Rats ever in attendance which only goes to show that this event is growing in size EVERY year. Seems as if Half of the attendees are our snow bound friends that quite frankly have had enough of subzero temps and the white stuff. Heck, we may even have to have our first annual "Who's whiter than Gary Starr contest" with the winner receiving a huge bottle of 30SPF sunscreen and a floppy bucket hat!
Looks like from the list we have....most all are in for Fri night Capt's meet and greet which will so those Sunnyland folks that when they picked Correct Craft as the featured boat they made a decision they will never forget and we will blow them out in showing our love for these fine machines we play on with our immediate family, and our worldly family gathered for the weekend. Just a reminder to all to be sure to wear a Correct Craft shirt of some sort on Friday night at the meet and greet. Looks like roughly about 50 people will be there and I wanna thank all y'all for stepping up with the extra $15 a head for attending something that is out of the norm for our regulary scheduled programming but looks to be something really neat and unique for us all to experience. For those bringing dishes of some sort to the Cookout Saturday. You'll need to bring a serving device along with your dish as the Rec hall has VERY limited serving utensils so drop by the Dollar store beofre you head down and pick up a couple or two. Those of you who are starting your trek to the river tomorrow or earlier, safe travels to all to drive carefully. I for one, am getting impatient for this SJRR to get here to see, hang, ski and boat with my old CC buddies and meet the new ones I only know by screen name. For those of you first timers to a CCFan gathering. You are in for a mind boggling, unbelieveable experience with people you met.....on the internet! See ya on the River! |

funny there Tim Sadly I'm out, since I'm retiring undefeated, but hopefully one of my northern brothers will continue
on,Joe,Steve,Alan,Adam,Todd,Chris,HW all have my support. I fear the English competitor this year, but it has been a long winter up north so we might prevail. Remember to wear dark clothing, the contrast is better At this point I'd like to nominate Jbear as judge since he has the most experience. See you all in less than a week! Have a safe trip everyone. |

So what's the plan if the weather is bad? So far it says 50% chance of rain for Friday and Saturday. I'm hoping the weatherman is wrong.

My weather says 40% Friday, 20% Saturday and 10% Sunday for rain. Highs of 80! Florida weather can rain and move on in 25 minutes. It will be perfect.

I hear ya. I've lived here long enough to know that A) the weatherman is rarely right, and B) rain doesn't last very long for the most part. I was just asking to see what people may do. Meet up at Parramores, grab a bite to eat or whatnot. I thought the weather was bad last year and just wondered what people did instead. |

Actually last year we just moved forward with plans despite the rain. It will be a great weekend. I look forward to seeing you Friday morning at the show. I am putting in at Dora. The rest of the gang are heading up to Paramores, where I will meet them later in the day, and take along any who would like to catch a ride up. Will have the 8 passenger Suburban.

Yep, rain or shine we'll be there at the boat show and surrounding lakes with most fans there Fri and Sat till Sat afternoon when will all head back to Parramores for the cookout. Sunday will be whatever...some folks are headed back home but the diehard River Rats staying will end up at The Glen or just down river past the bridge around Lungren Island for more skiing, rope swinging, etc.

Pretty sure Lungren island is submerged right now. We've gotten 5" of rain here last week and more on the way tonight/tomorrow.

I'm quit jealous of everyone going this year. My boat is torn apart right now and the interior is at the upholsterer. Even if it weren't, I probably still wouldn't be able to make it. Life got a little busier 3 weeks ago and I doubt my wife would let me, :
Next year I'll be there for sure! |

Cool. I should be up in Tavares by noon-ish. By the time I get the boat in the ater and I'm on my way I should be at the boat show by 1. Where do we park for those coming by boat?

Glad you asked JPass. I'm curious as to where they're putting the show boats that are in the water because the number of residant boats at the Tavares docks have really grown.

Guess I should have checked the rear differential closer. Had what I thought was a minor leak. ... made it to FL used 4 qts of gear lube. The truck spent all morning in the shop getting rear end rebuilt.. Hope its good to go now! . |

Congrats Brian! Good choice! I went to Lake Tahoe skiing 6 weeks after the twins were born. It was brought to my attention MANY times.
I think I read there is a spot they have roped off for us to the far left? It said in a previous post, maybe the "Sunnyland SJRR" thread?? |

1- work at last minute on boat, check 2- work on truck on the way, check 3- common thread here- GM, keep driving those Chevies Did you have to have bearings replaced etc or just the seals? Driving at 70 for hours on end is hard on man and machine, boat I assume has gone fine? Hope the worst is behind you Steve, drive safe and we'll see you in a couple of days, the show will be worth it! |

Gary,
They completely rebuilt rear diffy ... carrier bearings and pinion bearings, etc. Didnt show any problems, but decided to have them replace axle bearings and seals as well while they had it apart... what the heck is a few hundred more at that point? Just GLAD they could get it in first thing this morning. Was done by 1 pm. I spent most of that time cleaning what looked like inches thick grease off the boat and trailer... not pretty. . |

Tim, you were close, not chipped beef, corned beef. I popped through the west side market in CLE and picked up about 13lbs of corned beef that's frozen in my cooler in the truck as we speak. Just a little taste of home for Jbear. Anybody missing? |

If labeling is everything then I'll have to go with this one. Can't go wrong with skulls. That bottle looks like it belongs on the front of 'The Deathmobile' from Animal House. Looks like the first round on the the shot ski is "One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila, Floor!!!" |
