Nice Footing!

Down here still raining, and part of my crew is injured. Julio has some rib cage injury, and the other guy has a twisted ankle..
those are not footing injuries though...

I think so..if I can ski behind my nautique, I can ski any boat...

Im looking into buying some gear. Handle wise, I might get a back toe hold...Is ti really a need? or I can get away with the regular front toe hold?

any make to avoid? Bi i guess is the one, but the Berefoot Company is 10 clams cheaper...lol

I've got a back toe handle and it's a must have when you're learning back toe holds. After you become proficient you can use a front toe handle but it isn't easy.

If you can wait until you get here, we can go over to WBC and you can buy whatever you want there and carry it back with you. I'm not sure what that does for your customs but can definitely save some shipping. Cash sales can save a bit more too. They always had US Gear and I see that they're getting their own line from Masterline. I've used all of them and I think they're all good.
When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

WOW what a Blast!

full week of water activity at the SJRR. Wakeboard and foonting! double LL runs with Hollywood...also tried with quinner but I chickened out and knock him out on the starts lol! Was able to foot behind a BFN and gotta tel you that is a sweet table back there!

After the reunion I had a couple of days left and on tuesday I booked a full ski day at the WBC! wow this guys are in paradise! water was amazing!
on the morning run I went out with David Small, afternoon with Ben Groen.

So I got to learn reverse front toe, LLBD and back toe holds among some corrections on my 1 foots and backside position...
they liked my riding and were amazed I was able to learn everything from just watching vids and forum advice!

some vids

So the LLBD was like this: after going on the boom Ben told me to go long line, last time I tried was in january and was close to getting them. So I went barefoot...first attemp and I was riding it! skied it for 300 ft or so and falled...then tried again and after 6 or 7 attemps I was not getting it! bummer. The plane plant part is fine, my bad is im little wide and ended up being pulled over...I will try to edit all the falls.
so I put on the shoes and nailed after the 2 try! Did a couple of runs and this one is the last of the day! Sweet!

nice nice very nice! on the front toeholds - dont swing your arms back just release and open hands palms towards the boat/forwards...easier to regain the handle and keep balanced.

your sideslide is getting better and better...with the reverse too!! and the reverse is tough to get your weight correct. when your brain says you are ready--- give it a shot longline...its easier...seriously it is. just concentrate on doing it perfectly. its all mental. i think your basic is ready to go LL. be sure you're on the correct side of wake just outside the whitewater/spray line turn so heels are away from wake...you will get "locked in" it will blow your mind.

tell us what they tweaked about your form????

david says "stay broke away" alot. for backwards. i would bet you went out the back because you didnt stay broke away. which is just staying bent at waist.

I told Roy to do a thread on his hip replacement on here but he's worried that Pete will give him a bad time about not keeping it original...but he knows Hollywood will say its only original once. LOL.

Andy
Exactly Dave most important correction in fact was on my back position! bend your waist! and bend your knees!

Then the one foots and toe holds I was tipping a bit and I was told to compensate a bit with just the shoulder...

rest was ok...

I do thank God regularly that I'm in California. We keep the snow and ice up in the mountains where it can be visited at will. It did rain like a mofo and in Dec it was 25 F for almost a week! :-)
