I just bought a boat with a cracked 302 Crusader Model 220hp. It is counterclockwise rotation (LH) what is involved in swapping the block out using an automotive 302 block? Help

You will need to use brass freeze plugs and reverse rotation seals. Depending on block some RR seals are getting hard to get, some blocks used 2pc main seal newer ones use 1 pc the ones I believe are the harder ones to get.

Gary, he said his boat had a LH engine, so the std RMS should work ok.

Engine is a basket case. Found manual on this site and it says left rotation (counterclockwise). What parts do I look at to make sure which way the motor rotates?

To me, the easiest way is to pull the starter & see which side of the flywheel teeth are worn. Otherwise, if crank is free, you can take valve cover off & watch the valve action on a cylinder.

I have a 1965 Ski Nautique. The engine is pumping oil out of rear main seal. I suspect a broken or cracked ring. What engine will swap with a Ford 312?

Other than a 292 I think the 312 is unique. 292 and 312 were considered Y blocks.

Correct. 252, 272, 292 and 312's are a Y block. A Y block is needed.

I would change the rear main seal before swapping engines.
